This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ16X125-50B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ16X125-50B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X125-50B is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø16mm bore and 125mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X125-50B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke, the ACPJ16X125-50B pushes 100.5 N at 0.5 MPa and 140.7 N at 0.7 MPa on a 16 mm bore. The -50 code gives a 50 mm adjustment window: a stop screw trims the extend stroke anywhere in a 75-125 mm range, so one cylinder covers several jig positions. The 125 mm stroke exceeds the 75 mm standard maximum for bore 16, so this unit is made to order. Note this model is discontinued; the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X125.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it fits tight fixtures and sliding guards. In practice, plan on roughly 60 N (about 6 kgf) of usable push at 0.5 MPa, or lift about 5 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome rod, fixed TPU bumpers sit at both ends, and speed runs 30-500 mm/s at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi). This version has the B male rod thread; no magnet is fitted, so no position switch can be mounted.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ16X125-50B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 101 N | 75 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 141 N | 106 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 21 kgf | |
The ACEJ16X125-50B produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.

Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
Tunes clamp stroke between 75 and 125 mm on a machining fixture, using about 60 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa to hold small aluminium parts during drilling.
The male B rod thread accepts a custom stop blade to divert cartons on a conveyor lane, with the 50 mm window letting technicians re-tune the throw without swapping cylinders.
A benchtop sample press uses the 140.7 N push at 0.7 MPa to seat vials or test coupons, with the adjustable stroke matching different fixture heights.
Size by force first: at 0.5 MPa this 16 mm bore delivers 100.5 N push and 75.4 N pull. If your load needs more, the 20 mm bore gives 157.1 N push; if less, the 12 mm bore gives 56.5 N. The 50 mm window suits machines where the stroke is tuned on site - set 75 mm for a short eject and open it to 125 mm later. The stop screw only limits the extend stroke; it is not a mid-stroke lock, so the rod still drifts if air is lost. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the standard face, and the optional -S magnet (not fitted here) would allow CMSE / DMSE switches. Before ordering, confirm the ACEJ16X125 replacement matches your ISO 21287 mounting dimensions.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 100.5 N and pulls 75.4 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 140.7 N and pulls 105.6 N; theoretical maximum is 20.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -50 code is a 50 mm adjustment window: an external stop screw shortens the 125 mm extend stroke, giving a usable range of 75-125 mm. It shortens the stroke only and does not hold a load if air is lost. The 125 mm stroke is non-standard for bore 16 (75 mm max standard), so it is made to order.
No - the ACPJ16X125-50B is discontinued. The current-production drop-in is the ACEJ16X125, same bore, stroke and force class; confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping since the ACP follows the DIN standard. This unit has no magnet (the -S code adds one, enabling CMSE / DMSE switches), a male B rod thread, PT ports at M5x0.8, FA/FB flange or LB foot mounting, and fixed TPU bumpers at both ends. Its short body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder.
