This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ16X150-75SB — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ16X150-75SB in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X150-75SB is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø16mm bore and 150mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X150-75SB (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACPJ16X150-75SB is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: a stop screw trims the 150 mm stroke by up to 75 mm, giving a usable range of 75-150 mm on site. At 0.5 MPa the 16 mm bore delivers 100.5 N of push, and in practice about 60 N of that is a realistic working force - enough to lift roughly 6 kg vertically, or about 3 kg with a 2:1 margin. The 150 mm stroke is longer than the 75 mm standard maximum for this bore, so it is a made-to-order build.
This discontinued DIN-standard model carries the optional -S magnet, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be mounted for end-of-stroke signals, and the B code gives a male rod thread. Its hard-anodized aluminium body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it fits tight jigs and guards. For new projects AirTAC supplies the ACEJ16X150 as the current-production drop-in in the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP is DIN-standard.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ16X150-75SB (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 101 N | 75 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 141 N | 106 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 21 kgf | |
The ACEJ16X150-75SB produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 16 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×150 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -75 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa ejects stamped terminals or plastic caps from nests, and the 75-150 mm adjustable range lets one cylinder serve several die heights.
With about 6 kg of vertical lift capability at 0.5 MPa (about 3 kg with a 2:1 margin), it raises small trays or sensors in compact pick-and-place gantries where the short body is the only fit.
Because the -S magnet is fitted, CMSE or DMSE switches confirm gate-open and gate-closed positions on a blister or carton line running at 30-500 mm/s.
Size the bore against your load: the 12 mm bore pushes only 56.5 N at 0.5 MPa, while the 20 mm bore reaches 157.1 N, so this 16 mm unit at 100.5 N sits in the middle for light clamping and indexing. Remember the stop screw is a mechanical end stop for the extend stroke, not a mid-stroke lock - on air loss the piston still drifts, so do not rely on it to hold a load. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the standard face, and this model already includes the -S magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches. It is discontinued; order the ACEJ16X150 replacement and verify ISO 21287 mounting dimensions first.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 100.5 N and pulls 75.4 N; at 0.7 MPa push rises to 140.7 N and pull to 105.6 N, with a theoretical maximum of 20.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -75 code is a 75 mm adjustment window: the external stop screw shortens the 150 mm extend stroke by up to 75 mm, so the working range is 75-150 mm. It shortens the stroke only - it never lengthens it past 150 mm. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, with a fixed TPU bumper at both ends.
No. The ACPJ family is discontinued, and a 150 mm stroke on a 16 mm bore was always a made-to-order build rather than a catalogue stroke. The current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X150, an ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class with a matching short body and mounting family. Before swapping, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture, because the ACP was built to a DIN-standard footprint.
