The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X160-100 is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø16mm bore and 160mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X160-100 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACPJ16X160-100 is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: a stop screw trims the 160 mm stroke by up to 100 mm on site, giving a usable range of 60-160 mm. AirTAC has discontinued this DIN-standard ACPJ series, and the current-production drop-in is the ACEJ16X160 in the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP body follows the older DIN standard. At 0.5 MPa this 16 mm bore pushes 100.5 N and pulls 75.4 N, and its short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight jigs and guarding where a full-length body cannot.
Because the 160 mm stroke exceeds the 75 mm maximum standard stroke for a 16 mm bore, this unit is made to order. The body is hard-anodized aluminium with an S45C hard-chrome rod, M5x0.8 ports, a female M4x0.7 rod thread and a fixed TPU bumper at each end. As a working rule of thumb, plan on roughly 60 N (about 6 kg) of usable push at 0.5 MPa rather than the full 100.5 N rating, which vertically equates to lifting around 5 kg with a 2:1 margin. Note that this code carries no -S option, so no magnet is fitted and no CMSE or DMSE switch can be mounted - order the -S variant if sensing is needed. Speed range is 30-500 mm/s at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi).

Around 5 kg of vertical pressing force at 0.5 MPa seats sample vials into holders, and the compact short body fits inside the tight benchtop enclosure.
Size this bore when your load needs roughly 60 N of working force at 0.5 MPa; step down to the 12 mm bore (56.5 N push) for lighter clamping, or up to the 20 mm bore (157.1 N push) when the load doubles. The 100 mm adjustment window suits fixtures where one cylinder must serve several product lengths - set the stop screw once and the extend stroke lands anywhere between 60 and 160 mm. Remember the stop is a mechanical end stop only: on air loss the piston drifts, so it is not a load-holding device. Match FA/FB flange or LB foot mounts and the I/Y rod knuckles to your fixture, and order the -S code if CMSE / DMSE switches are planned. For new designs, specify the ACEJ16X160 instead, as this ACPJ model is discontinued.
Replacement checklist

The -100 code sets a 100 mm adjustment window: an external stop screw shortens the 160 mm extend stroke on site, so the working range is 60-160 mm. The stroke can only be trimmed, never lengthened past 160 mm, and the stop is not a mid-stroke lock - the piston still drifts if air is lost.
The 75 mm limit is the standard stroke list; 160 mm is a non-standard, made-to-order stroke, so lead time applies. More importantly, the whole ACPJ series is discontinued. The current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X160 (swap the P for an E), a drop-in in the same bore, stroke and force class with the same M5x0.8 ports and FA/FB / LB mounting family - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, because the ACP body is DIN-standard. Also note this code has no -S magnet, so no CMSE or DMSE switch can be fitted; order the -S version if you need sensing.
