The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X160-20B is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø16mm bore and 160mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X160-20B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This is a double acting, adjustable-stroke compact cylinder with a 16 mm bore and a made-to-order 160 mm stroke. The -20 code gives a 20 mm adjustment window: an external stop screw trims the extend stroke on site, so the usable range is 140-160 mm. It pushes 100.5 N and pulls 75.4 N at 0.5 MPa, rising to 140.7 N at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical peak of 20.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. A practical rule of thumb: plan for about 60 N of real work at 0.5 MPa, which corresponds to lifting roughly 5 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into narrow jigs and guarding where a full-length body cannot. The stop screw is a mechanical end stop for the extend stroke only, not a mid-stroke lock: on air loss the piston still drifts, so add a separate valve or clamp if you must hold a load. FA/FB flanges and LB feet bolt to the ISO 21287 face, and the male rod thread takes I/Y knuckles directly. For position sensing, order the -S variant with CMSE / DMSE switches. For new designs, specify the ACEJ16X160 instead.
