The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X160-40B is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø16mm bore and 160mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X160-40B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACPJ16X160-40B is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: a stop screw trims the 160 mm stroke by up to 40 mm on site, giving a usable 120-160 mm range. This 16 mm bore delivers 100.5 N push and 75.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa (140.7 N / 105.6 N at 0.7 MPa), with a theoretical peak of 20.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The 160 mm stroke exceeds the 75 mm standard maximum for bore 16, so it is a made-to-order build. Note the unit is discontinued; the current-production successor is the ACEJ16X160.
The hard-anodized aluminium body follows the ISO 21287 short format, cutting roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder - handy for slim gantries and guarded cells. The B code gives a male 8 mm rod thread, and the port is M5x0.8. No magnet is fitted (the optional -S code adds one for CMSE / DMSE switches). A fixed TPU bumper sits at both ends. For planning, count on about 60 N of real work at 0.5 MPa, which lifts roughly 5 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin.

Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa is enough to strip light plastic housings off a nest, and the 40 mm window lets a technician dial the eject length between 120 and 160 mm without re-plumbing.

Size between bores if the load is uncertain: bore 12 gives 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa, while bore 20 reaches 157.1 N. If you need to hold a load against drift when air is lost, remember the stop screw only limits the extend stroke - it is not a mid-stroke lock. Match FA/FB flange or LB foot hardware to the ISO 21287 face, and order the -S variant if CMSE / DMSE sensing is planned. For new projects, specify the ACEJ16X160 instead and confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
