The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X160-40 is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø16mm bore and 160mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X160-40 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This compact cylinder works double acting: air drives the piston out and pulls it back, and a stop screw trims the extend stroke anywhere in a 40 mm window, so the 160 mm stroke can be set from 120 to 160 mm on site. Push force is 100.5 N and pull 75.4 N at 0.5 MPa, rising to 140.7 N at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical ceiling of 20.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The 160 mm stroke is beyond the 75 mm standard limit for a 16 mm bore, so it is a made-to-order build. Note this model is discontinued; the current-production successor is the ACEJ16X160, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
The hard-anodized aluminium body with an S45C hard-chrome rod keeps the short ISO 21287 footprint roughly 50% shorter in mounting length than an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into cramped jigs and sliding gantries. For sizing, plan on about 60 N of real work at 0.5 MPa (roughly 0.6 of the rated push), which corresponds to lifting about 5 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. A fixed TPU bumper sits at both ends, speed spans 30-500 mm/s, and the rod carries a female M4x0.7 thread with M5x0.8 ports. No magnet is fitted on this version; the optional -S code adds one for CMSE / DMSE switches.

Mount via FA/FB flange or LB foot on the ISO 21287 face, and add I/Y rod knuckles to the M4x07 female thread where side alignment matters. Remember the stop screw is an end stop only - on air loss the piston still drifts, so it is not a load-holding lock. Since the ACPJ is discontinued, order the ACEJ16X160 as the drop-in and verify the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions.

Position sensing requires the optional -S magnet code; this version has no magnet, so CMSE or DMSE reed / solid-state switches cannot be mounted unless you order the -S variant.
