The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X20-10SB is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø16mm bore and 20mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X20-10SB (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
Double acting and adjustable, the ACPJ16X20-10SB is a discontinued DIN-standard compact cylinder: 16 mm bore, 20 mm stroke with a 10 mm adjustment window, so an external stop screw trims the extend stroke anywhere between 10 and 20 mm on site. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 100.5 N and pulls 75.4 N; at 0.7 MPa that rises to 140.7 N / 105.6 N, with a theoretical ceiling of 20.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into tight jigs and guarding where a full-length body cannot.
The S code means the optional magnet is fitted, so CMSE / DMSE reed or solid-state switches can be clamped straight onto the hard-anodized aluminium body, and the B code gives a male 8 mm rod thread. A practical sizing rule: about 60 N of that 100.5 N push is realistic working force at 0.5 MPa, which lifts roughly 6 kg vertically - halve it for a 2:1 margin and plan for about 3 kg. Note the stop screw is a mechanical end stop, not a mid-stroke lock: on air loss the piston still drifts. For new builds, the current-production drop-in is the ACEJ16X20 - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP is DIN-standard.

Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
A 10-20 mm trimmed extend stroke ejects finished clips or connectors from a compact mold nest, with the 100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa clearing parts up to about 6 kg of resisted drag.
Because the -S magnet is fitted, a CMSE switch on the body confirms clamp-made on an electronics test jig, while the stop screw dials the clamp travel between 10 and 20 mm.
The 140.7 N push at 0.7 MPa handles light crimping of wire terminals or pressing dowels into small housings, with the short body fitting under a low bench gantry.
Size both ways: if 100.5 N at 0.5 MPa is marginal, step up to the 20 mm bore for 157.1 N; if the load is light, the 12 mm bore gives 56.5 N in the same short-body family. The 10 mm window suits fixtures where the stroke is finalized after installation - trim the extend stroke down from 20 mm, never past it. Match FA/FB flange or LB foot mounts and I/Y rod knuckles to the mounting face, and remember the male rod thread (B) here rather than the female default. This model is discontinued; order the ACEJ16X20 as the current replacement and verify ISO 21287 hole patterns first.
