This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ16X200-50SB — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ16X200-50SB in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X200-50SB is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø16mm bore and 200mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X200-50SB (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
Double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke, the ACPJ16X200-50SB carries a 16 mm bore and a 200 mm stroke that a stop screw can trim by up to 50 mm, giving a usable range of 150-200 mm. Push force is 100.5 N at 0.5 MPa (140.7 N at 0.7 MPa), and the male-threaded 8 mm rod plus the -S magnet make it ready for CMSE / DMSE switch sensing. The 200 mm stroke is longer than the 75 mm standard maximum for this bore, so it is a made-to-order build. Note: this ACPJ model is discontinued; the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X200, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which matters in long-stroke gantries and conveyor stops where space is tight. For sizing, treat about 60 N (0.6 x 100.5 N) as the practical working force at 0.5 MPa; vertically that corresponds to lifting roughly 5 kg with a 2:1 margin (10 kg at the theoretical limit). A fixed TPU bumper at each end decelerates the piston, pressure spans 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) and speed runs 30-500 mm/s.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ16X200-50SB (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 101 N | 75 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 141 N | 106 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 21 kgf | |
The ACEJ16X200-50SB produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 16 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×200 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -50 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
A 150-200 mm extend range with 100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa is enough to kick small cartons or raise a stop blade on packaging lines, and the -S magnet feeds a DMSE switch to confirm gate position.
The male rod thread drives a knuckle or ejector pin to push finished 3-5 kg parts off a fixture; trimming the stroke by up to 50 mm lets one cylinder serve several part heights.
In electronics and medical device benches, CMSE reed switches on the -S magnet flag full extend and retract, while the compact short body fits inside a guard where an ISO 15552 profile cylinder would not.
At 16 mm bore this unit delivers 100.5 N push / 75.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa; step down to a 12 mm bore (56.5 N push) for lighter clamps or up to 20 mm (157.1 N push) when more force is needed. The 50 mm adjustment window suits stations where the final extend position is tuned on the machine, and the stop is a mechanical end stop only - it does not hold a load if air is lost. FA/FB flange or LB foot mountings bolt to the ISO 21287 face. Since the ACPJ is discontinued, order the ACEJ16X200 as the drop-in successor and verify mounting dimensions against the datasheet.
Replacement checklist
Push is 100.5 N and pull 75.4 N at 0.5 MPa; at 0.7 MPa push rises to 140.7 N and pull to 105.6 N, with a theoretical maximum of 20.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. It is double acting with a 50 mm adjustment window on the 200 mm stroke, M5x0.8 ports, PT body thread, male 8 mm rod thread, 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) operating pressure, 30-500 mm/s speed and a fixed TPU bumper at both ends. The 200 mm stroke is made to order because the bore 16 standard maximum is 75 mm.
No - the ACPJ family is discontinued. The current-production drop-in is the ACEJ16X200 (swap the P for an E), which matches the same bore, stroke and force class in the ISO 21287 compact format. Because the ACP is DIN-standard, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions and port positions against the ACEJ datasheet before swapping. The -S magnet on this unit carries CMSE / DMSE switches; on the replacement, order the equivalent -S code if sensing is required.
