This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ16X200-75SB — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ16X200-75SB in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X200-75SB is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø16mm bore and 200mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X200-75SB (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This ACPJ16X200-75SB is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: a stop screw trims the 200 mm stroke by up to 75 mm, giving a usable range of 125-200 mm on site. The 16 mm bore delivers 100.5 N push and 75.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa, rising to 140.7 N push at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical peak of 20.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The 200 mm stroke exceeds the 75 mm standard limit for this bore, so it is a made-to-order build.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it suits deep fixtures and slim gantries. As a buyer rule of thumb, plan on about 60 N (roughly 6 kg of push) of real work at 0.5 MPa, and expect it to lift about 5 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The -S code on this model means the magnet is fitted, so CMSE / DMSE switches can be added. Note: the ACPJ family is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is the ACEJ16X200 - confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ16X200-75SB (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 101 N | 75 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 141 N | 106 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 21 kgf | |
The ACEJ16X200-75SB produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 16 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×200 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -75 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa is enough to seat small connectors or pins in electronics fixtures, and the 75 mm window lets technicians trim the extend stroke to 125-200 mm without changing the cylinder.
Because the -S magnet is fitted, CMSE or DMSE switches clamp onto the body to confirm end positions on a 200 mm slide, running at 30-500 mm/s within the 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) supply band.
With about 5 kg of vertical lift capacity at a 2:1 margin, the 8 mm hard-chrome rod handles small hold-down plates in food-packaging machinery where a full-length profile cylinder will not fit.
Size both ways before committing: the 12 mm bore gives 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa, while the 20 mm bore reaches 157.1 N - this 16 mm unit at 100.5 N sits between them. The adjuster is a mechanical end stop for the extend stroke, not a mid-stroke lock, so on air loss the piston still drifts; do not use it to hold a load. Mounting options include FA/FB flange and LB foot, and the male rod thread (B code) on this model takes I/Y knuckles directly. If you need position feedback, this unit already carries the optional -S magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches. For new projects, order the ACEJ16X200 instead - same bore, stroke and force class.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 100.5 N and pulls 75.4 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 140.7 N and pulls 105.6 N; theoretical maximum is 20.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -75 code is a 75 mm adjustment window: the stop screw shortens the 200 mm extend stroke by up to 75 mm, so the working range is 125-200 mm. The 200 mm stroke is non-standard for a 16 mm bore (standard max is 75 mm), so it is made to order. The port is M5x0.8 and the rod end is a male thread.
It is a compact short-body cylinder with a hard-anodized aluminium body, S45C hard-chrome rod, fixed TPU bumpers at both ends and FA/FB flange or LB foot mounting; the short body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder. This model carries the optional -S magnet, so CMSE / DMSE reed or solid-state switches can be mounted. The ACPJ family is discontinued - the current-production drop-in is the ACEJ16X200 (swap the P for an E), same bore, stroke and force class; confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
