This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ16X200-75 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ16X200-75 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X200-75 is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø16mm bore and 200mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X200-75 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This double acting compact cylinder trims its own extend stroke on site: the -75 code gives a 75 mm adjustment window, so the 200 mm stroke can be set anywhere from 125 to 200 mm with an external stop screw. It never lengthens the stroke past the ordered 200 mm, and the stop is a mechanical end stop only - on air loss the piston still drifts, so it is not a load-holding brake. At 0.5 MPa the 16 mm bore pushes 100.5 N and pulls 75.4 N; a practical rule of thumb is to plan for about 60 N (roughly 6 kg) of real work at that pressure.
The 200 mm stroke is longer than the 75 mm maximum standard stroke for bore 16, so this unit is made to order. The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which matters in a 200 mm-stroke build where space is tight. A fixed TPU bumper sits at both ends, the hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome rod with a female M4x0.7 thread, and the port is M5x0.8. Note: this model is discontinued - the current-production replacement is ACEJ16X200, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ16X200-75 (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 101 N | 75 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 141 N | 106 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 21 kgf | |
The ACEJ16X200-75 produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.

| 16 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×200 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -75 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 125-200 mm adjustable extend range lets one cylinder serve several fixture depths, with 100.5 N at 0.5 MPa enough to eject light stamped parts from a nest.
A 200 mm stroke in a body about 50% shorter than an ISO 15552 profile cylinder fits under low guards, and the stop screw pins the extend position without re-plumbing.
Speed of 30-500 mm/s covers gentle vial handling and fast indexing alike, while the M5x0.8 port keeps tubing runs tidy inside a compact enclosure.
Size the bore both ways: if 100.5 N of push at 0.5 MPa is more than your jig needs, the ACPJ12 at 56.5 N saves space; if 100.5 N falls short, step up to the ACPJ20 for 157.1 N. For vertical lifting, 100.5 N corresponds to about 10 kg theoretical, so halve it and treat roughly 5 kg as a comfortable lift with margin. Match FA/FB flange or LB foot mounts to the ISO 21287 face, and remember the magnet is only fitted when you order the -S code - without it no CMSE or DMSE switch can be mounted. This model is discontinued; order ACEJ16X200 as the drop-in successor and verify the mounting dimensions against your fixture.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 100.5 N and pulls 75.4 N; at 0.7 MPa that rises to 140.7 N push and 105.6 N pull, with a theoretical maximum of 20.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof pressure 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, temperature -20 to +70 C, fluid air filtered to 40 um. The rod is 8 mm with a female M4x0.7 thread and the port is M5x0.8. The 200 mm stroke is a made-to-order length above the 75 mm standard maximum for this bore.
An external stop screw shortens the extend stroke by up to 75 mm, giving a usable range of 125-200 mm; it cannot extend the stroke beyond the ordered 200 mm. The stop is a mechanical end stop, not a mid-stroke lock - the piston still drifts if air is lost. A fixed TPU bumper at each end absorbs end-of-travel impact. This ACPJ model is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is ACEJ16X200 (same bore, stroke and force class), so confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping. If you need position sensing, order the -S version to add the optional magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches.
