This model is discontinued

AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ16X25-10B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ16X25-10B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X25-10B

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X25-10B is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø16mm bore and 25mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X25-10B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.

About the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X25-10B

This AirTAC ACPJ16X25-10B is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: the -10 code gives a 10 mm window, so a stop screw trims the 25 mm stroke down to 15 mm on site. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 100.5 N and pulls 75.4 N, rising to 140.7 N at 0.7 MPa. The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into tight jigs and guarding where a full-length body cannot. Note the model is discontinued; the current-production replacement is ACEJ16X25, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

For sizing, plan on roughly 60 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa (about 6 kg lifted vertically with a 2:1 margin) rather than the full 20.5 kgf theoretical maximum at 1.0 MPa. The male rod thread (B code) bolts to I/Y knuckles on the ISO 21287 face, with FA/FB flange and LB foot options. Air supply is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, and a fixed TPU bumper sits at both ends. No magnet is fitted on this version; order the -S code if you need CMSE / DMSE switch sensing.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ16X25-10B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

Where the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X25-10B Is Used

precision_manufacturing

Small-parts ejection in plastic molding

The 100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa clears finished clips or bushings off a mold face, and the 10 mm adjustment lets the operator fine-tune eject travel without re-plumbing.

sensors

Pick-and-place gantry z-axis

With the -S magnet ordered, CMSE or DMSE switches flag end positions on this short-body slide; the 15-25 mm trimmed range suits short part-lift moves under a low gantry beam.

packaging

Carton flap tuck on a packaging line

The male-thread 8 mm rod drives a flap-tuck paddle at 30-500 mm/s, and the compact body fits inside tight guarding where an ISO 15552 profile cylinder would not.

Replacing the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X25-10B with the ACEJ16X25-10B

Pick this 16 mm bore when your jig needs 100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa and the stroke must be trimmed after installation - the 10 mm window covers 15-25 mm of extend travel. If the load is lighter, the 12 mm bore (56.5 N push) saves space; if you need more, step up to the 20 mm bore at 157.1 N. The adjuster is a mechanical end stop only: it shortens the extend stroke and does not hold a load if air is lost. This unit is discontinued - order ACEJ16X25 as the drop-in successor and verify the ISO 21287 mounting footprint first.

Replacement checklist

  • ✓ Current-production ACE → ACEJ16X25-10B
  • ✓ Same bore / stroke / force class
  • ✓ Confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions
  • ✓ Port/thread type (PT / G)
  • ✓ Add -S for magnet if you need sensors

Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X25-10B FAQ

At 0.5 MPa it pushes 100.5 N and pulls 75.4 N; at 0.7 MPa, 140.7 N push and 105.6 N pull; theoretical maximum is 20.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -10 code sets a 10 mm adjustment window: an external stop screw shortens the 25 mm extend stroke to as little as 15 mm. It is a mechanical stop, not a mid-stroke lock, so the piston can drift if air pressure is lost.

No - the ACPJ family is discontinued. The current-production drop-in is ACEJ16X25 (swap the P for an E), an ISO 21287 cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class. Because the ACP was DIN-standard, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping. Also note this version has no magnet; sensors require the optional -S code.
