This model is discontinued

AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ16X30-10SB — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ16X30-10SB in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X30-10SB

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X30-10SB is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø16mm bore and 30mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X30-10SB (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.

About the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X30-10SB

This discontinued AirTAC ACPJ16X30-10SB is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: a stop screw trims the 30 mm stroke by up to 10 mm, giving a usable 20-30 mm range. The 16 mm bore delivers 100.5 N push and 75.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa (rising to 140.7 N at 0.7 MPa), with a fixed TPU bumper at both ends and speeds of 30-500 mm/s. The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight jigs and guarding where a full-length body will not fit.

The -S code means the magnet is fitted, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be mounted for end-of-stroke signalling, and the B code gives a male rod thread on the 8 mm rod. For planning, treat about 60 N (0.6 x 100.5 N) as the realistic working force at 0.5 MPa, which corresponds to lifting roughly 3 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Note that the stop screw sets the extend position only - it is not a mid-stroke lock, so the piston still drifts if air is lost. This model is discontinued; the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X30, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ16X30-10SB (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

Where the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X30-10SB Is Used

precision_manufacturing

Small jig clamping

The 100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa clamps aluminium brackets or plastic housings in drilling and small assembly jigs, with the 20-30 mm adjustable range matching varying part heights.

sensors

Position feedback on compact slides

With the fitted -S magnet, CMSE or DMSE switches signal extend and retract on short linear slides inside packaging machines where body length is critical.

compress

Push-off in electronics fixtures

About 60 N of practical working force at 0.5 MPa ejects PCB carriers or connector trays from test fixtures, and the male rod thread accepts a knuckle for angled pushes.

Replacing the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X30-10SB with the ACEJ16X30-10SB

Size the bore against your load: at 0.5 MPa the 16 mm bore pushes 100.5 N, the smaller 12 mm bore manages 56.5 N, and the larger 20 mm bore reaches 157.1 N. If you need to trim the extend stroke on site, the -10 window here covers 20-30 mm; order a wider window (up to 100 mm) if your setup may change. The male rod thread (B) suits I/Y knuckles, while FA flange or LB foot mounts bolt to the standard face. The optional -S magnet is fitted on this unit, enabling CMSE / DMSE switches. Since ACPJ is discontinued, specify the ACEJ16X30 as the drop-in successor and verify ISO 21287 dimensions before ordering.

Replacement checklist

  • ✓ Current-production ACE → ACEJ16X30-10SB
  • ✓ Same bore / stroke / force class
  • ✓ Confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions
  • ✓ Port/thread type (PT / G)
  • ✓ Add -S for magnet if you need sensors

Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X30-10SB FAQ

At 0.5 MPa it pushes 100.5 N and pulls 75.4 N; at 0.7 MPa, 140.7 N push and 105.6 N pull; theoretical maximum is 20.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -10 code gives a 10 mm adjustment window, so the extend stroke can be trimmed anywhere between 20 and 30 mm with the stop screw. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) and speed is 30-500 mm/s.

No - the ACPJ family is discontinued. The current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X30 (swap the P for an E), which matches the same bore, stroke and force class. Because the ACPJ is DIN-standard while the ACE follows ISO 21287, confirm the mounting dimensions before swapping. The replacement keeps the short compact body, TPU bumpers and the optional magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches.
