The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X35-20B is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø16mm bore and 35mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X35-20B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This ACPJ16X35-20B is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable stroke, now discontinued and superseded by the ACEJ16X35 in the ISO 21287 line. The 16 mm bore delivers 100.5 N of push and 75.4 N of pull at 0.5 MPa, rising to 140.7 N and 105.6 N at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical peak of 20.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Its short hard-anodized aluminium body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into cramped jigs and guarding where a full-length body cannot.
The -20 code sets a 20 mm adjustment window: a stop screw trims the 35 mm extend stroke down to as little as 15 mm on site, so one cylinder covers several fixture variants. In practice, plan on about 60 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa, which corresponds to lifting roughly 3 kg vertically with a sensible margin. The male rod thread (B code) bolts straight to I/Y knuckles, and fixed TPU bumpers at both ends handle end-of-travel deceleration. Note the adjuster is a mechanical end stop only, not a mid-stroke lock, so the piston still drifts if air is lost.

Size the bore against your load: at 0.5 MPa the 12 mm bore pushes 56.5 N and the 20 mm bore pushes 157.1 N, so the 16 mm bore at 100.5 N sits in the middle for light clamping and positioning. If you need to hold a load against air loss, add an external stop rather than relying on the stroke adjuster. Order the -S code if you want the optional magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches; this version has no magnet. For new designs, specify the current-production ACEJ16X35 instead and confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP is DIN-standard.

Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture before swapping, because the ACP is DIN-standard, and remember the magnet is only present when the -S code is ordered.
