The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X40-10S is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø16mm bore and 40mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X40-10S (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACPJ16X40-10S is a double acting, adjustable-stroke compact cylinder from AirTAC's DIN-standard ACPJ line, now discontinued and replaced by the ACEJ16X40 in the same bore, stroke and force class. Its 16 mm bore delivers 100.5 N push and 75.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa, rising to 140.7 N push at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical peak of 20.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -10 code gives a 10 mm adjustment window: a stop screw trims the extend stroke anywhere between 30 and 40 mm on site, so one cylinder covers several fixture positions. Note the stop is a mechanical end stop only - on air loss the piston still drifts, so it is not a mid-stroke lock.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it suits tight jigs and guarded stations. In practice, plan on about 60 N (0.6 x the 100.5 N push) of usable work at 0.5 MPa, which lifts about 5 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin - enough for small covers, brackets or sensor carriers. The S code fits the magnet, so CMSE / DMSE switches can be mounted for end-of-stroke signals. FA/FB flanges and LB feet bolt to the standard face; confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping from the discontinued ACPJ to the ACEJ16X40.

Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).

The 40 mm stroke can be trimmed to 30 mm with the -10 window, and the 75 mm max standard stroke for bore 16 leaves room if you later need more travel. Choose the female M4x0.7 rod thread (this model) or the B-code male thread to match your knuckle. If you need position signals, this S version already carries the optional magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches. For new designs, order the current-production ACEJ16X40 instead and verify the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions.
