The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X40-40B is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø16mm bore and 40mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X40-40B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACPJ16X40-40B is a double acting adjustable-stroke compact cylinder, now discontinued, with a 16 mm bore and 40 mm stroke. Air drives the rod in both directions, and an external stop screw trims the extend stroke anywhere within the ordered 40 mm window, giving a usable range of 0-40 mm. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 100.5 N and pulls 75.4 N; at 0.7 MPa those figures rise to 140.7 N and 105.6 N, with a theoretical maximum of 20.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into cramped fixtures a full-length body cannot reach.
Built around a hard-anodized aluminium body with an S45C hard-chrome rod, it carries fixed TPU bumpers at both ends and runs at 30-500 mm/s on air filtered to 40 um, 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi). This B-code version has a male rod thread and a PT port thread with an M5x0.8 port. For planning, treat about 60 N (0.6 of the push force) as the realistic working output at 0.5 MPa, which corresponds to lifting roughly 5 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Note that the stop screw is a mechanical end stop only: on air loss the piston still drifts, so it never holds a load. The current-production drop-in is the ACEJ16X40 (swap the P for an E); confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP series is DIN-standard.

The male rod thread (B code) suits knuckle or external tooling; FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the standard face. The 40 mm stroke sits well inside the 75 mm maximum standard stroke for this bore. This model is discontinued - order the ACEJ16X40 as the current drop-in and verify ISO 21287 mounting dimensions first.
