The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X40-40S is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø16mm bore and 40mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X40-40S (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACPJ16X40-40S is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: a stop screw trims the 40 mm stroke anywhere within the ordered 40 mm window, so one unit covers a 0-40 mm working range. The 16 mm bore delivers 100.5 N push and 75.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa (140.7 N / 105.6 N at 0.7 MPa, 20.5 kgf theoretical max at 1.0 MPa). The -S code means the optional magnet is fitted, so CMSE / DMSE reed or solid-state switches can be clamped straight onto the hard-anodized aluminium body.
As an ISO 21287 short-body design it saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into cramped jigs and guard brackets. Rule of thumb for sizing: plan on roughly 60 N (about 6 kgf) of real work at 0.5 MPa, and expect it to lift about 5 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Note this model is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is the ACEJ16X40 - confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP is DIN-standard.
