The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X60-40 is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø16mm bore and 60mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X60-40 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACPJ16X60-40 is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable stroke: an external stop screw trims the 60 mm extend stroke by up to 40 mm, giving a usable range of 20-60 mm on site. At 0.5 MPa the 16 mm bore delivers 100.5 N push and 75.4 N pull, rising to 140.7 N at 0.7 MPa. In practice, plan on roughly 60 N of real work at 0.5 MPa, which is about a 3 kg vertical lift with a 2:1 margin - enough for small clamps, gates and light parts.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight fixtures where a full-length body will not fit. A hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome rod, fixed TPU bumpers sit at both ends, and the rod end is female M4x0.7 with M5x0.8 ports. Note: this model is discontinued. The current-production drop-in is the ACEJ16X60 (same bore, stroke and force class) - confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP series was built to the DIN standard.

Size both ways: if 100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa is marginal, step up to the 20 mm bore (157.1 N push, 117.8 N pull); if the load is lighter, the 12 mm bore (56.5 N push, 42.4 N pull) saves space. The 60 mm stroke is within the 75 mm standard limit for this bore, so no made-to-order stroke is needed. The adjuster is a mechanical end stop for the extend stroke only - it does not lock the piston, so on air loss the rod can still drift. Mounting: FA/FB flange or LB foot; the optional -S magnet enables CMSE / DMSE switches, but this code has no S, so no magnet is fitted and no sensor can be mounted. For new designs, order the ACEJ16X60 instead.
