The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X70-10SB is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø16mm bore and 70mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X70-10SB (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This double acting ACPJ16X70-10SB is a discontinued DIN-standard compact cylinder with a 10 mm adjustable-stroke window: an external stop screw trims the 70 mm extend stroke down to 60 mm on site, so one cylinder covers several jig positions. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 100.5 N and pulls 75.4 N, rising to 140.7 N at 0.7 MPa. The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into tight fixtures and guarding where a full-length body will not fit.
Practical sizing: keep real work near 60 N (about 0.6 of the push figure) for a comfortable margin, which corresponds to lifting roughly 5 kg vertically - halve that to about 2.5 kg if you want a 2:1 safety factor on a vertical lift. The B code gives a male 8 mm hard-chrome S45C rod, and the S code means the optional magnet is fitted, so CMSE / DMSE switches can be mounted for end-of-stroke sensing. Note the stop screw is a mechanical end stop only: on air loss the piston still drifts, so it is not a load-holding lock. Since ACPJ is discontinued, plan the swap to ACEJ16X70 and confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions first.

Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa is enough to kick stamped terminals or connector housings out of a die, and the 10 mm trim window lets the operator fine-tune ejection travel between 60 and 70 mm without changing cylinders.
With the -S magnet fitted, CMSE or DMSE switches confirm the extended stop position, so a 16 mm bore can gate small cartons or trays on a light conveyor at 30-500 mm/s cycle speeds.
The short body, about 50% shorter in mounting length than an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, clamps PCB test fixtures or small weldment nests where a full-length body would collide with the tooling.
At 16 mm bore this sits mid-range: the 12 mm bore gives 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa for lighter clamping, while the 20 mm bore reaches 157.1 N if your load needs more force at the same pressure. The 70 mm stroke is within the 75 mm maximum standard stroke for bore 16, so no made-to-order stroke is needed. Match FA/FB flange or LB foot mounts plus I/Y rod knuckles to the ISO 21287 face. If you need position feedback, this unit already carries the -S magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches; on a new build, order the ACEJ16X70 instead, as ACPJ is discontinued.

Before swapping, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your existing DIN-standard ACP fixture, and re-spec the FA/FB flange or LB foot mount and rod knuckle to the new face. This ACPJ16X70-10SB is no longer in production.
