The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X70-20S is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø16mm bore and 70mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X70-20S (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
Double acting and adjustable in stroke, the ACPJ16X70-20S is a discontinued DIN-standard compact cylinder: a 16 mm bore driving an 8 mm rod through a 70 mm stroke, with a stop screw that trims the extend stroke by up to 20 mm so the working range is 50-70 mm. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 100.5 N and pulls 75.4 N; at 0.7 MPa those rise to 140.7 N and 105.6 N, with a theoretical 20.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight fixtures and guarding where a full-length body cannot.
The -S code on this model means the magnet is fitted, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be clamped straight onto the hard-anodized aluminium body to report end positions. For sizing, plan on roughly 60 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa (about 0.6 of the rating), which lifts around 6 kg vertically - halve that to about 3 kg for a 2:1 margin on real part weight. The rod end is female M4x0.7, the port is M5x0.8, and the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X70: confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP series is DIN-standard.

The 70 mm stroke is within the 75 mm maximum standard stroke for this bore, so it is a catalogue item, and the -20 window lets you dial the extend stroke anywhere between 50 and 70 mm on site. Remember the stop screw only shortens the extend stroke - it is not a mid-stroke lock, and on air loss the piston still drifts. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the standard face, and the fitted -S magnet accepts CMSE / DMSE switches. Order the ACEJ16X70 as the current drop-in replacement.

It shortens the stroke only - it never lengthens it past 70 mm, and it is a mechanical end stop, not a load-holding brake. Fixed TPU bumpers at both ends decelerate the piston at each end of travel. The ACPJ family is discontinued; the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X70 in the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, as the ACP is DIN-standard.
