AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ16X70-30B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X70-30B is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø16mm bore and 70mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X70-30B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This discontinued AirTAC unit is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke. The 16 mm bore delivers 100.5 N push and 75.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa, rising to 140.7 N at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical ceiling of 20.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. An external stop screw trims the 70 mm stroke by up to 30 mm, giving a usable extend range of 40-70 mm. The hard-anodized aluminium body keeps the mounting length roughly 50% shorter than an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight fixtures and guarding. Note that the stop is a mechanical end stop only: on air loss the piston still drifts, so it must never be treated as a load-holding brake.
For sizing, plan on about 60 N of real work at 0.5 MPa (roughly 60% of the rated push), which corresponds to lifting about 5 kg vertically, or roughly 2.5 kg with a 2:1 margin. The rod end carries a male thread (the B code) and the air supply connects through M5x0.8 ports. The optional -S magnet enables CMSE / DMSE switches; without it no sensing is possible. This model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ACEJ16X70 in the ISO 21287 family, so confirm mounting dimensions before swapping.

If your fixture needs a fixed stroke instead of a trimmed one, the ACP16X70 (replaced by ACE16X70) is the related type; for a rod through both ends, the ACPD double-rod version applies. FA/FB flange and LB foot mounts bolt to the standard face, and I/Y rod knuckles fit the male thread. Order the -S code if you need CMSE / DMSE switch positions. The ACEJ16X70 is the current replacement - verify ISO 21287 dimensions first.

This ACPJ is discontinued, so for new builds specify the ACEJ16X70, the current-production ISO 21287 successor in the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm the mounting dimensions against the DIN-standard ACP footprint before swapping.
