This model is discontinued

AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ16X75-10 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ16X75-10 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X75-10

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X75-10 is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø16mm bore and 75mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X75-10 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.

About the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X75-10

A double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke, the ACPJ16X75-10 uses a 16 mm bore to deliver 100.5 N push and 75.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa, rising to 140.7 N push at 0.7 MPa. Its stop screw trims the 75 mm stroke by up to 10 mm, giving a usable extend range of 65-75 mm on site. The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight jigs and guarding where a full-length body will not fit.

This model is discontinued; the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X75, which matches the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP is DIN-standard. For sizing, plan on about 60 N of real work at 0.5 MPa (roughly 0.6 of the rated push), which corresponds to lifting about 5 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The body is hard-anodized aluminium with an S45C hard-chrome rod, a fixed TPU bumper at both ends, and a female M4x0.7 rod thread. Note that no magnet is fitted on this code; the optional -S magnet is what enables CMSE / DMSE switch mounting.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ16X75-10 (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

Where the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X75-10 Is Used

compress

Bench-top press fixture

The 100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa is enough to seat small terminals or dowel pins in electronics assembly, and the 10 mm adjustment window lets an operator dial the 65-75 mm extend range to match part height without re-plumbing.

precision_manufacturing

Compact gating on a small CNC

With about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder saved, this 16 mm bore slides chip guards or gates closed inside tight machine envelopes at 30-500 mm/s.

packaging

Carton hold-down on a packing line

Lifting about 5 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin, the cylinder tops a folded flap or holds a carton steady under a tape head, with the fixed TPU bumper softening both ends of travel.

Replacing the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X75-10 with the ACEJ16X75-10

At 16 mm bore this sits mid-range: the 12 mm bore gives 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa for lighter clamping, while the 20 mm bore reaches 157.1 N when you need more force on the same compact footprint. The 75 mm stroke is the maximum standard stroke for bore 16, so no made-to-order length is involved. Match FA/FB flange or LB foot mounts to the ISO 21287 face, and if you need position sensing order the -S code, because without it no magnet is fitted and no CMSE / DMSE switch can be read. Remember the stop screw only shortens the extend stroke - it is not a mid-stroke lock, and on air loss the piston still drifts. Order the ACEJ16X75 as the current drop-in.

Replacement checklist

  • ✓ Current-production ACE → ACEJ16X75-10
  • ✓ Same bore / stroke / force class
  • ✓ Confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions
  • ✓ Port/thread type (PT / G)
  • ✓ Add -S for magnet if you need sensors

Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X75-10 FAQ

At 0.5 MPa the 16 mm bore produces 100.5 N push and 75.4 N pull; at 0.7 MPa it reaches 140.7 N push and 105.6 N pull, with a theoretical maximum of 20.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -10 code gives a 10 mm adjustment window, so the stop screw trims the 75 mm extend stroke anywhere down to 65 mm. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof pressure 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, and the port is M5x0.8.

Yes, this model is no longer in production. The current drop-in is the ACEJ16X75, which matches the same bore, stroke and force class; confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping because the ACP is DIN-standard. On sensors: this code has no magnet fitted, so no switch can be mounted. If sensing is needed, order the -S version with the optional magnet, which accepts CMSE and DMSE reed or solid-state switches.
