AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ASE100X10B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ASE100X10B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP100X10B is a single acting, push (spring return) DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø100mm bore and 10mm stroke, 1/4" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ASE100X10B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A single acting push cylinder with spring return, the discontinued ASP100X10B extends its 25 mm rod with air and retracts it by spring, so one air line is all the plumbing a 100 mm bore clamp needs. At 0.5 MPa it delivers 3640.7 N of push, already net of the spring, rising to 5211.5 N at 0.7 MPa. The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into tight press fixtures and guarding where a full-length body cannot. Working range is 0.2-1.0 MPa (28-145 psi) with 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof, speed 50-500 mm/s, and a fixed TPU bumper at each end.
For sizing, treat roughly 2184 N (about 0.6 of the 0.5 MPa rating) as the usable working force, which lifts about 185 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The hard-anodized aluminium body carries a 1/4" port and the B code gives a male rod thread. This model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ASE100X10, same bore, stroke and force class, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping. The magnet is the optional -S code; without it no CMSE or DMSE switch can be fitted.

Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 3640.7 N push at 0.5 MPa holds steel brackets against a drill jig, and the 10 mm stroke is enough to clear loading by a few millimetres.
Air extends the platen to eject a formed shell from the die; the spring retracts it the moment the valve vents, ready for the next cycle.
About 185 kg of vertical equivalent lets the rod seat a heavy latch bar, with the spring pulling it clear whenever air pressure drops below 0.2 MPa.
At 3640.7 N push at 0.5 MPa, this 100 mm bore suits heavy short-throw clamping; drop to the 80 mm bore (2316.2 N) if the load is lighter, or step up only if you need more than 5211.5 N at 0.7 MPa. Remember the spring returns the rod home on air loss, so it will not hold a mid-stroke position. Choose FA/FB flange, LB foot or CA/CB clevis to match the fixture, and add the -S code only if CMSE or DMSE switching is required. Order the ASE100X10 instead, as this ASP model is discontinued.
