The AirTAC Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP16X5S is a single acting, push (spring return) DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø16mm bore and 5mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ASE16X5S (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A single acting push cylinder with spring return, the ASP16X5S uses air to extend the rod and an internal spring to retract it, so only one air line is needed and the rod sits retracted whenever pressure drops below the 0.2 MPa minimum. This 16 mm bore, 5 mm stroke version delivers 78.4 N of push at 0.5 MPa (118.6 N at 0.7 MPa), already net of the spring, and the -S code means the position magnet is fitted, so CMSE or DMSE switches can be mounted for end-of-stroke sensing. The body is a hard-anodized aluminium compact build whose short body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, with a fixed TPU bumper at each end and an S45C hard-chrome rod finished with a female M4x0.7 thread.
For sizing, plan on roughly 47 N of usable work at 0.5 MPa (about 60% of the rating), which corresponds to lifting about 4 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Note that this model is discontinued: the current-production replacement is the ASE16X5, which swaps the P for an E and matches the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ASP was built to a DIN-standard footprint.
