This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ASE25X25N — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ASE25X25N in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP25X25N is a single acting, push (spring return) DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø25mm bore and 25mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ASE25X25N (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A single acting push cylinder with spring return, the discontinued ASP25X25N extends its 10 mm rod on air and retracts on the spring, needing only one air line and a minimum of 0.2 MPa to beat the spring. At 0.5 MPa it delivers 210.1 N of push net of the spring (308.3 N at 0.7 MPa), and the short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight jigs and guarding. The hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome rod and a fixed TPU bumper at both ends.
For sizing, treat about 126 N (roughly 12.8 kgf) as the usable working force at 0.5 MPa, or plan on lifting about 10 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The rod ends in a female M6x1.0 thread and the air port is M5x0.8. This model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ASE25X25 in the same bore, stroke and force class, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ASE25X25N (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force (spring return) |
|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 210.1 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 308.3 N |
Single-acting push: air extends the rod; the return spring retracts it. Forces already net the spring; minimum working pressure is 0.2 MPa.
| ASP | DIN compact cylinder (single-acting push, spring-return, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 25 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×25 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
A 210.1 N push at 0.5 MPa seats snap caps on 30 ml cosmetic bottles in a benchtop filler, and the spring retracts the head the moment air drops.
The 25 mm stroke kicks a formed aluminium bracket off the die face between hits at 50-500 mm/s, with the TPU bumper absorbing the return.
With a 2:1 margin the cylinder lifts about 10 kg vertically, enough to raise a rack of sample vials into a spectrometer sampling position.
Size both ways: if 210.1 N at 0.5 MPa is more than your jig needs, the ASP20X25N gives 127.4 N in the same 25 mm stroke; if you need more, the ASP32X25N reaches 352.5 N. Remember the spring drives the rod home on air loss, so it will not hold a mid-stroke position. Choose the -S code only if you want the optional magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches; this N version has no magnet. FA/FB flange, LB foot and CA/CB clevis mountings bolt to the standard face. Order the ASE25X25 as the current replacement and verify ISO 21287 dimensions first.
Replacement checklist
Net of the return spring it pushes 210.1 N at 0.5 MPa and 308.3 N at 0.7 MPa. Operating range is 0.2-1.0 MPa (28-145 psi) with a 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof pressure, air filtered to 40 um, temperature -20 to +70 C, speed 50-500 mm/s. Bore 25 mm, stroke 25 mm, rod 10 mm, female M6x1.0 rod thread, M5x0.8 port.
Order the ASE25X25: swap the P for an E and you get the current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class. Because the ASP was built to a DIN-standard compact format, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping it into an existing fixture.
