The AirTAC Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP40X20B is a single acting, push (spring return) DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø40mm bore and 20mm stroke, 1/8" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ASE40X20B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ASP40X20B is a single acting push cylinder with spring return: air extends the 12 mm rod and the internal spring retracts it, so one air line is enough. At 0.5 MPa this 40 mm bore delivers 556.8 N of push, already net of the spring, and 808.1 N at 0.7 MPa; it needs just 0.2 MPa to overcome the spring. The male rod thread (B code) bolts straight to I/Y knuckles. Note this model is discontinued - the current-production replacement is the ASE40X20 (swap the P for an E), which matches the same bore, stroke and force class.
The hard-anodized aluminium body is a short ISO 21287-style compact build that saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight fixtures, guards and gantries. Fixed TPU bumpers at both ends absorb end-of-travel impact. A practical sizing check: halving the 556.8 N figure gives roughly 28 kg of vertical lift with a 2:1 margin, enough to raise a small die or fixture lid. No magnet is fitted on this code - order the -S variant if you want CMSE / DMSE switch sensing.
