AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ASE63X10 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ASE63X10 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP63X10 is a single acting, push (spring return) DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø63mm bore and 10mm stroke, 1/8" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ASE63X10 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This is a single acting push cylinder with spring return: compressed air extends the 16 mm rod and the internal spring retracts it, so one air line is all the plumbing needs. The 63 mm bore delivers 1420.5 N of push at 0.5 MPa (2044 N at 0.7 MPa), already net of the spring, and it starts working from just 0.2 MPa. Note the ASP family is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is the ISO 21287 ASE63X10, so confirm mounting dimensions before you swap.
The short ISO 21287 body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into tight clamping fixtures and guarded stations. In practice, plan on about 850 N of usable work at 0.5 MPa (roughly 60% of the rating), which lifts about 72 kg vertically, or about 36 kg with a 2:1 margin. A fixed TPU bumper sits at both ends, the hard-anodized aluminium body carries a 1/8" PT port, and the S45C hard-chrome rod ends in a female M10x1.5 thread.

Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).

Mounted by FB flange inside a milling fixture, the compact body clamps a bracket blank in about 72 kg-equivalent force terms while staying clear of the cutter path.
A single air line pushes the sealing bar down over a carton flap; the return spring lifts it clear at rest, and the 1/8" port keeps plumbing simple on the machine frame.
Size against neighbours: a 50 mm bore gives 875.5 N at 0.5 MPa while an 80 mm bore reaches 2316.2 N, so the 63 mm sits in the middle for medium clamping loads. Because the spring drives the rod home on air loss, this cylinder returns to the retracted position rather than holding a mid-stroke pose. If you need position feedback, order the -S code to add the optional magnet for CMSE or DMSE switches; the plain ASP63X10 has no magnet. Mounting choices cover FA/FB flange, LB foot and CA/CB clevis. For new builds, specify the ASE63X10 instead, as this model is discontinued.
Replacement checklist

Sensors are possible only if you order the optional -S magnet code, which lets CMSE or DMSE switches read position; the base model has no magnet.
