About the Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP80X25
A single acting push cylinder with spring return, the ASP80X25 uses an 80 mm bore to deliver 2316.2 N of push at 0.5 MPa (3321.5 N at 0.7 MPa), both figures already net of the return spring. Air extends the rod; the spring retracts it to the normally retracted home position, so only one air line is needed and the minimum working pressure is 0.2 MPa. Its short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into tight press fixtures and guarded stations a full-length body cannot reach.
At 0.5 MPa the net push converts to about 236 kgf, so plan on lifting roughly 118 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin, or budget about 1390 N of real work force. The hard-anodized aluminium body carries a 20 mm S45C hard-chrome rod with a female M12x1.75 thread, a 1/4" PT port, and fixed TPU bumpers at both ends. Note this model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is ASE80X25, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Replacing the Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP80X25 with the ASE80X25
Size against neighbours: the 63 mm bore gives 1420.5 N at 0.5 MPa, while the 100 mm bore reaches 3640.7 N, so the 80 mm sits mid-pack for heavy clamping with a short 25 mm stroke. Because the spring returns the rod on air loss, the cylinder will not hold a mid-stroke position - it always drives home retracted. If you need position feedback, order the -S variant with the optional magnet so CMSE or DMSE switches can be fitted; this plain ASP80X25 code has no magnet. FA/FB flange, LB foot and CA/CB clevis mounts bolt to the same face family. Since ASP is discontinued, specify ASE80X25 as the current replacement and verify the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions.
