This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ATE25X10S — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ATE25X10S in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ATP Single Acting Port Compact Cylinder ATP25X10S is a single acting, pull (spring return) DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø25mm bore and 10mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ATE25X10S (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A single acting compact pull cylinder, the ATP25X10S keeps its rod extended by an internal spring and uses compressed air to retract it over a 10 mm stroke. At 0.5 MPa the net pull (already after the spring) is 170.9 N, rising to 253.3 N at 0.7 MPa, so it suits light clamping and eject jobs where the workpiece must be released when air is lost. Working pressure is 0.2-1.0 MPa (28-145 psi) with a 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof rating, and the 25 mm bore breathes through an M5x0.8 port.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it drops into tight fixture pockets and guarding. Because this unit carries the -S option, the magnet is fitted and CMSE or DMSE reed or solid-state switches can be clipped on for end-of-stroke signalling. As a sizing rule, plan on about 102 N of real work at 0.5 MPa, which lifts roughly 8.7 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Note that the ATP family is discontinued; the current drop-in is the ATE25X10, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ATE25X10S (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Pull force (spring return) |
|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 170.9 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 253.3 N |
Single-acting pull: the spring extends the rod; air retracts it. Forces already net the spring; minimum working pressure is 0.2 MPa.
| ATP | DIN compact cylinder (single-acting pull, spring-return, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 25 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×10 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
Spring holds the clamp open and the 170.9 N pull at 0.5 MPa retracts the pin to release a machined aluminium bracket on a CNC fixture.
The 10 mm stroke is enough to kick small pressed terminals off a punch tooling face at up to 500 mm/s.
With the fitted -S magnet, a DMSE switch confirms the rod is home on a small inspection-shield slide.
Size against neighbours: the 20 mm bore pulls 88.1 N at 0.5 MPa, while the 32 mm bore reaches 296.0 N, so pick the 25 mm when your load sits between those bands. On air loss the spring returns the rod to its extended home and no mid-stroke position is held, so do not use it to park a load. The female M6x1.0 rod thread and PT ports are standard, and the fitted -S magnet lets you add CMSE / DMSE switches. For new builds, order the ATE25X10 instead, as this model is discontinued.
Replacement checklist
Net pull (spring already deducted) is 170.9 N at 0.5 MPa and 253.3 N at 0.7 MPa. Keep real work near 102 N at 0.5 MPa, which is about 8.7 kg vertical lift with a 2:1 margin. Minimum working pressure is 0.2 MPa; range is 0.2-1.0 MPa (28-145 psi), proof 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 50-500 mm/s, temperature -20 to +70 C, air filtered to 40 um.
The spring extends the rod and air retracts it, so on air loss the rod returns to its extended home position and no mid-stroke position is held. A fixed TPU bumper sits at both ends to soften arrival; it is not adjustable and never locks a load. The ATP family is discontinued, and the ATE25X10 is the current-production drop-in in the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
