This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ATE25X25B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ATE25X25B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ATP Single Acting Port Compact Cylinder ATP25X25B is a single acting, pull (spring return) DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø25mm bore and 25mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ATE25X25B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A single acting compact pull cylinder, the ATP25X25B uses an internal spring to extend its 10 mm rod and compressed air to retract it, so the assembly rests normally extended and fails to the extended position when air is lost. At 0.5 MPa it delivers 170.9 N of pull net of the spring (253.3 N at 0.7 MPa), and it needs at least 0.2 MPa of air just to overcome the spring. Its 25 mm bore runs on an M5x0.8 port within a 0.2-1.0 MPa (28-145 psi) window, moving at 50-500 mm/s.
The hard-anodized aluminium body is an ISO 21287-class short build that saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into tight fixtures a full-length body cannot. Plan on about 103 N of real working pull at 0.5 MPa rather than the full rating, which corresponds to lifting roughly 9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Note this model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ATE25X25 (swap the P for an E), so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ATE25X25B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Pull force (spring return) |
|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 170.9 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 253.3 N |
Single-acting pull: the spring extends the rod; air retracts it. Forces already net the spring; minimum working pressure is 0.2 MPa.
| ATP | DIN compact cylinder (single-acting pull, spring-return, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 25 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×25 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
On a small parts stamping press, the spring keeps the ejector gate extended (closed) at rest; 170.9 N of air pull at 0.5 MPa retracts it only while the signal is live, so loss of air leaves the guard safely closed.
The short ISO 21287-class body fits inside a drilling jig body where an ISO 15552 profile cylinder would overhang; the male rod thread (B code) bolts straight to a retracting clamp arm.
A packaging line uses the normally-extended rod as a carton stop; 25 mm of pull stroke drops it out of the way at 50-500 mm/s, and the fixed TPU bumpers quiet the return at both ends.
Size against neighbours: the ATP20X25B pulls 88.1 N at 0.5 MPa while the ATP32X25B reaches 296.0 N, so pick the 25 mm bore when your clamping or return load sits between roughly 100 and 170 N. The spring returns the rod to extended on air loss and will not hold a mid-stroke position, so add an external stop if you need intermediate holding. This B-coded version has a male rod thread on a PT port, and the optional -S magnet code enables CMSE / DMSE switches. Since the ATP is discontinued, order the ATE25X25 as the current ISO 21287 equivalent and verify its mounting dimensions first.
Replacement checklist
It is a single acting pull cylinder: the spring extends the rod and air retracts it. Pull force, already net of the return spring, is 170.9 N at 0.5 MPa and 253.3 N at 0.7 MPa. Minimum working pressure is 0.2 MPa (needed to beat the spring), the operating window is 0.2-1.0 MPa (28-145 psi) with 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof, and speed is 50-500 mm/s. On air loss the spring returns the rod to extended; it does not hold a mid-stroke position.
Switches are possible only with the optional -S magnet code, which allows CMSE or DMSE reed or solid-state switches; this ATP25X25B (no S) carries no magnet, so no sensor can be mounted. The ATP family is discontinued, and the current-production drop-in is the ATE25X25 in the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ATP follows the older DIN-standard footprint.
