About the Airtac ATP Single Acting Port Compact Cylinder ATP63X15SB
Single acting pull cylinder of DIN-standard compact build, the ATP63X15SB uses an internal spring to extend the rod and compressed air to retract it, so the unit rests normally extended and fails to the extended position when air is lost. At 0.5 MPa it delivers a net pull of 1320 N (1903.2 N at 0.7 MPa), figures already reduced by the return spring, and it needs at least 0.2 MPa to overcome the spring. The 63 mm bore drives a 16 mm rod over a 15 mm stroke at 50-500 mm/s.
The hard-anodized aluminium body with S45C hard-chrome rod saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into tight clamping fixtures and guarded stations. This model carries the optional -S magnet, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be mounted for end-of-stroke signalling, and the B code gives a male rod thread. Note that ATP is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is ATE63X15, and buyers should confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping. As a planning figure, treat about 790 N (roughly 80 kg vertical pull) as the realistic working load at 0.5 MPa.
