This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ATE63X25S — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ATE63X25S in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ATP Single Acting Port Compact Cylinder ATP63X25S is a single acting, pull (spring return) DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø63mm bore and 25mm stroke, 1/8" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ATE63X25S (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ATP63X25S is a single acting compact pull cylinder: a return spring extends the 16 mm rod and compressed air retracts it, so the assembly rests normally extended and fails to the extended home position on air loss. With the -S magnet fitted, CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be mounted directly on the hard-anodized aluminium body. At 0.5 MPa (minimum working pressure is 0.2 MPa) the spring-netted pull is 1320 N, rising to 1903.2 N at 0.7 MPa. The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into tight jigs and guarding where a full-length body cannot. This ATP model is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is the ATE63X25.
For sizing, treat about 790 N (roughly 0.6 of the 0.5 MPa rating) as the realistic working pull, and expect the rod to lift about 67 kg vertically when you keep a 2:1 margin on the 1320 N figure. A fixed TPU bumper pads both ends of travel, and the female M10x1.5 rod thread plus FA/FB flange, LB foot and CA/CB clevis options bolt into standard fixtures. Air must be filtered to 40 um, pressure runs 0.2-1.0 MPa (28-145 psi) with 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof, speed is 50-500 mm/s, and the 1/8" port depends only on the 63 mm bore. Before swapping in the ATE63X25, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ATE63X25S (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Pull force (spring return) |
|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 1320.0 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 1903.2 N |
Single-acting pull: the spring extends the rod; air retracts it. Forces already net the spring; minimum working pressure is 0.2 MPa.
| ATP | DIN compact cylinder (single-acting pull, spring-return, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 63 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×25 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The spring holds the 63 mm rod extended between cycles and the air pull of 1320 N at 0.5 MPa retracts a riser plate under a welding fixture, lowering the part onto locating pins.
With the -S magnet fitted, a DMSE switch on the aluminium body confirms the rod is fully extended (spring home) before the carton infeed conveyor is allowed to start.
In a CNC secondary-operation fixture, the spring ejects the housing off the nest on cycle end; the 25 mm stroke and about 67 kg vertical-lift margin suit light aluminium parts.
Size against neighbours: the 50 mm bore pulls 775 N at 0.5 MPa if your load is lighter, while the 80 mm bore reaches 2159.1 N for heavier clamping or retracting duty. Because the spring only returns the rod to its extended home and never holds a mid-stroke position, add an external stop if your process needs intermediate positioning. Match the mounting to the machine - FA/FB flange, LB foot or CA/CB clevis - and keep the -S magnet in the code if you need CMSE / DMSE switch feedback. Order the ATE63X25 as the current replacement and verify ISO 21287 mounting dimensions first.
Replacement checklist
Net of the return spring, the 63 mm bore pulls 1320 N at 0.5 MPa and 1903.2 N at 0.7 MPa; 0.2 MPa is the minimum working pressure needed to beat the spring. Plan on roughly 790 N of real work at 0.5 MPa, or about 67 kg of vertical lift with a 2:1 margin. Operating range is 0.2-1.0 MPa (28-145 psi), proof is 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 50-500 mm/s, port 1/8", rod thread M10x1.5 female.
A fixed TPU bumper pads each end of travel to soften the last moments of the stroke; it does not lock or hold the rod. The -S code on this model means the magnet is fitted, so CMSE or DMSE reed or solid-state switches mount on the body for end-of-stroke signals. The ATP63X25S itself is discontinued - order the ATE63X25 (P changed to E) as the current drop-in in the same bore, stroke and force class, and confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
