The AirTAC Airtac DMSE Electronic Sensor DMSE-030 is a genuine DMS magnetic position switch. It senses the magnet ring in a pneumatic cylinder's piston and signals when the piston reaches that point, giving a 2-wire output on 10-28 V DC with a 3 m flying lead. It only works on a cylinder that carries a piston magnet.
The DMSE-030 is AirTAC's electronic solid-state position switch with a 3 m flying lead. Mounted in the sensor groove of a magnet-equipped AirTAC cylinder, it switches its 2-wire output when the piston with the built-in magnet passes the set position. Supply range is 10-28 V DC and the housing carries an IP64 rating.
The extra metre of lead over the 2 m version matters in practice: it lets you route the cable away from hot machine sections and moving parts to a safer termination point. Profile E sets which cylinder groove this clip fits - check the letter against your cylinder series, as the mapping is not published here.

2-wire versions run 10-28 V DC; NPN / PNP 3-wire versions run 5-30 V DC. IP64 as standard. Order the RW version where coolant, washdown or constant cable flexing is present. Switching distance, response time, current rating, voltage drop, LED behaviour, contact life, weight and dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

We do not hold the full profile-to-cylinder-series table, so confirm the profile letter against your cylinder model before ordering — send us the cylinder part number and we will check the fit.
The split is electrical, not quality. Solid-state DMS and EMS are DC-only and suit modern PLC inputs; the reed-based CMS switches a much wider window, so it is the one for AC circuits, relay logic and older panels. The RW (IP68) option exists on DMS and EMS only.

On the feed-slide cylinders of a mechanical press, the 3 m lead routes the signal down and away from the hot tooling area to the terminal strip below the bed.
Multiple clamp cylinders in a robotic assembly cell each carry a groove-mounted switch; the longer leads reach a shared cable trunk without extra jointing.
Where the switch rides on a moving axis, the spare lead length lets the cable form a proper loop in the energy chain, reducing flex stress at the switch body.
Pick the DMSE-030 when a 2 m lead will not reach your junction box or when you want slack for dressing the cable around guards. The switch stays a 2-wire, series-wired device on a 10-28 V DC supply; if your controller needs a clean dedicated signal line, compare the 3-wire NPN or PNP DMS models. Cut the lead to length on installation. Match profile E to the cylinder groove and confirm the cylinder has the magnet option - without the magnet, the switch stays silent.
Quick checklist
Use the F-MQ bracket on round-body cylinders and F-ACT on tie-rod cylinders where there is no groove to seat the switch. Both are ordered separately from the switch. Switching distance and mounting dimensions come from the factory datasheet — ask us for the sheet that matches your cylinder.
An electronic (solid-state) switch, 2-wire output, 10-28 V DC supply voltage, IP64 protection and a 3 m flying lead. Switching current, response time and sensing distance are not published here - confirm those from the datasheet.
It is a specification choice with real benefit: the extra length lets you terminate the cable clear of heat, coolant spray and moving mechanism, and trim off the surplus. It is not a stock or delivery statement - it is how the switch is built.
