The AirTAC Airtac DMSE Electronic Sensor DMSE-100 is a genuine DMS magnetic position switch. It senses the magnet ring in a pneumatic cylinder's piston and signals when the piston reaches that point, giving a 2-wire output on 10-28 V DC with a 10 m flying lead. It only works on a cylinder that carries a piston magnet.
The DMSE-100 is the long-lead member of the E-profile 2-wire electronic switches: a solid-state sensor that reports piston position from the magnet built into an AirTAC cylinder. It operates from 10-28 V DC, seals to IP64 as the general type, and arrives with a 10 m flying lead - the longest standard lead in the DMS wiring table. Like every profile letter, the E only tells you which groove style it clips into.
That 10 m cable is the practical story here. Large presses, long conveyors and gantry frames often put the cylinder several metres from the control enclosure, and the DMSE-100 lets you run that distance on one uncut cable rather than splicing shorter leads. Being solid-state, the output has no contact bounce, so long cable runs are less prone to false counts than a reed contact cycling rapidly. Verify the E profile against your cylinder before ordering.

2-wire versions run 10-28 V DC; NPN / PNP 3-wire versions run 5-30 V DC. IP64 as standard. Order the RW version where coolant, washdown or constant cable flexing is present. Switching distance, response time, current rating, voltage drop, LED behaviour, contact life, weight and dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

| E | Profile letter: the mounting / groove type that fits a particular cylinder body. This family offers E, G, H, J. It is a fit code, not a performance grade. |

We do not hold the full profile-to-cylinder-series table, so confirm the profile letter against your cylinder model before ordering — send us the cylinder part number and we will check the fit.
The split is electrical, not quality. Solid-state DMS and EMS are DC-only and suit modern PLC inputs; the reed-based CMS switches a much wider window, so it is the one for AC circuits, relay logic and older panels. The RW (IP68) option exists on DMS and EMS only.

A magnet-fitted diverter cylinder at the far end of a sorting conveyor signals actuated position to the main panel 8-9 m away using the full 10 m lead, no junction splice required.
On a hydraulic-assist press frame, the switch confirms the pneumatic counterbalance cylinder is fully home before the interlock releases. Solid-state output avoids bounce on a long cable run.
Vertical lift cylinders on a storage retriever machine report top-of-travel through the DMSE-100. The long lead reaches the mast controller without intermediate terminals.
Pick the DMSE-100 when the cylinder sits far from your control gear and you want a single continuous lead - 10 m covers spans that would force a splice with the 2, 3 or 5 m versions. If your controller prefers a discrete three-wire input, look at the DMS NPN or PNP models instead. Where the route passes moving cable tracks or washdown zones, the -RW version adds IP68 sealing. And always remember: with no magnet-equipped cylinder, this switch reads nothing.
Quick checklist
Use the F-MQ bracket on round-body cylinders and F-ACT on tie-rod cylinders where there is no groove to seat the switch. Both are ordered separately from the switch. Switching distance and mounting dimensions come from the factory datasheet — ask us for the sheet that matches your cylinder.
It is a DMS electronic solid-state position switch with 2-wire output, supply range 10-28 V DC, IP64 protection for the general type, and a 10 m flying lead. The E profile indicates the mounting groove fit only.
A long flying lead is the economical route when the switch is permanently wired and far from the panel - you route one cable with no intermediate connector to loosen or corrode. An M8 or M12 connector version costs more but lets you unplug the switch for service without rewiring, so the trade-off is cable length versus maintenance convenience.
