The AirTAC Airtac DMSE Electronic Sensor DMSE-N100 is a genuine DMS magnetic position switch. It senses the magnet ring in a pneumatic cylinder's piston and signals when the piston reaches that point, giving a npn 3-wire output on 5-30 V DC with a 10 m flying lead. It only works on a cylinder that carries a piston magnet.
The DMSE-N100 is a solid-state electronic position switch from AirTAC's DMS range. It senses the piston magnet of an AirTAC cylinder fitted with the magnet option and returns an NPN 3-wire signal on a 5-30 V DC supply. There is no mechanical contact inside, so nothing bounces or wears out under fast cycling. This version ends in a 10 m flying lead, the longest lead in the standard 020/030/050/100 line-up, and the general construction is rated IP64.
The 3-wire NPN output sinks current to the PLC input rather than switching the supply line in series, which gives the input card a cleaner signal than a 2-wire loop and keeps leakage out of the reading. Before ordering, check that the E profile body matches the sensor groove of your cylinder - the letter is a mechanical fit code, not a performance grade. Send us your cylinder series and we will confirm the exact match from the datasheet.

We do not hold the full profile-to-cylinder-series table, so confirm the profile letter against your cylinder model before ordering — send us the cylinder part number and we will check the fit.
The split is electrical, not quality. Solid-state DMS and EMS are DC-only and suit modern PLC inputs; the reed-based CMS switches a much wider window, so it is the one for AC circuits, relay logic and older panels. The RW (IP68) option exists on DMS and EMS only.

| Consider EMS | the mini 2-wire electronic switch for tight installations |
| Consider CMS | the reed alternative for AC circuits and voltages up to 240 V |

The NPN 3-wire signal connects directly to a sinking DC input card, giving the controller a clean end-of-stroke bit for a pick-and-place sequence.
With 10 m of flying lead, the switch reaches a remote control panel without splicing or extension joints on a wide sorting conveyor.
Mounted in the groove of a magnet-equipped clamping cylinder, it confirms full clamping before a CNC cycle is allowed to start.
Pick an electronic DMS switch when your circuit is DC, cycles quickly, or feeds a PLC input that needs a defined NPN sinking signal; a reed CMS switch suits AC circuits or mixed 5-240 V AC/DC supplies instead. NPN must match the input card type - if your PLC expects a sourcing (PNP) signal, order the P variant rather than adapting in the field. The 10 m flying lead suits long cable runs to a distant control cabinet or a route through a cable track; if the switch sits somewhere you service often, an M8 or M12 connector version lets you unplug instead of rewiring. Whatever wiring you choose, the E profile has to seat correctly in the cylinder groove, and the cylinder itself must be ordered with the built-in magnet option - a switch on an unmagnetised piston never trips.
Quick checklist
Use the F-MQ bracket on round-body cylinders and F-ACT on tie-rod cylinders where there is no groove to seat the switch. Both are ordered separately from the switch. Switching distance and mounting dimensions come from the factory datasheet — ask us for the sheet that matches your cylinder.
It is a solid-state electronic switch with an NPN 3-wire output, powered from 5-30 V DC and rated IP64 in the general construction. The connection is a 10 m flying lead, and the E profile body must match your cylinder's sensor groove. Exact electrical ratings such as load current should be confirmed from the datasheet.
A 3-wire NPN output gives a PLC input a cleaner, more defined signal than a 2-wire switch wired in series with the load, but the input card must be NPN-compatible - otherwise order the PNP version. Also remember the switch only works on a cylinder ordered with the built-in magnet, and the profile letter has to suit that cylinder's groove.
