The DMSJ-N030 is a solid-state electronic position switch from AirTAC's DMS family. Its NPN 3-wire output sinks current into a PLC or controller input, and the supply range is 5-30 V DC. A 3 m flying lead exits the body, and the general housing carries an IP64 rating. Like every switch in this class, it produces a signal only when mounted on a cylinder fitted with the magnet option.
Because the output is three-wire rather than two, the switching element sits in its own circuit, which gives the PLC a cleaner, lower-leakage signal than a series-wired two-wire unit. Choose this NPN version when your input card expects a sinking signal; a PNP card needs the P variant instead. Three metres of pre-wired lead is a middle option: shorter than a 10 m run, cheaper and simpler than an M8 or M12 connector. If the switch lives in washdown spray or oil mist, step up to the -RW build with IP68 - this general type is IP64. A magnet-equipped cylinder is required; without the piston magnet nothing will trigger.
