About the Airtac DMSJ Electronic Sensor DMSJ-N100
This is the 10 m-lead member of the DMSJ NPN group. Inside is a solid-state electronic switch, not a mechanical reed: no contact bounce, well suited to fast and repeated cycling. The NPN 3-wire output sinks the input current of a PLC card, the supply window is 5-30 V DC, and the standard housing is IP64. It reads nothing unless it is seated in a cylinder groove on a magnet-equipped piston.
A full 10 m of pre-attached lead is the defining choice here. On large machines - long conveyors, gantries, press lines - it lets a sensor deep in the frame reach the cabinet with no splice, no terminal strip and no extra gland. Check that the J profile matches your cylinder's sensor groove; the letter is a fit code, not a grade.

The split is electrical, not quality. Solid-state DMS and EMS are DC-only and suit modern PLC inputs; the reed-based CMS switches a much wider window, so it is the one for AC circuits, relay logic and older panels. The RW (IP68) option exists on DMS and EMS only.
