The AirTAC AirTAC GFR300-08 Filter Regulator, G1/4, 5 um, Manual Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/4" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR300-08 is a filter regulator: in one body it removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure. This size 300 unit is supplied with a G1/4 (BSPP) port, a 5 um filter element (the W grade, finer than the 40 um standard), a manual drain on the PC bowl, and a square pressure gauge reading in psi. The standard regulator covers an adjustment range of 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi) with a maximum inlet pressure of 1.0 MPa (145 psi), and the unit operates from -5 to 70 C in non-freezing conditions. A mounting bracket is included.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is available in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 in to 1 in, a choice of manual, automatic or differential-pressure drain, 40 um or 5 um filtration, G (BSPP) or NPT thread options, and gauge scale choices. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm the flow and datasheet figures for your application before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

|---|---|
| 08 | Port size PT1/4". This body offers 08 = PT1/4", 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| (blank) | Mounting bracket included. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 2 | Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| G | G (BSPP) thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Supplying filtered, regulated air to the clamping and pressing cylinders on a small metal-forming press, where the 5 um element protects valve spools from particulate and the regulator holds a set working pressure at the tool.
Conditioning the air feeding pick-and-place and carton-sealing cylinders on a packaging conveyor, with the manual drain bled during shift changeovers and the psi gauge giving operators a local setpoint check.
A branch regulator on a lab or workshop compressed-air ring main, where the 5 um grade and stable regulated output suit air-driven sample handling tools and small pneumatic fixtures fed from a 1/4 in take-off.
Size and port step up with required flow: size 300 with a 1/4 in port suits mid-range circuits, while sizes 200, 400 and 600 cover smaller and larger duties - we can confirm the right step against your flow curve. Drain type matters: manual drain (as on this unit) needs periodic bleeding and allows the widest 0.05-0.9 MPa regulation range; automatic and differential-pressure drains suit unattended installations. This unit carries the 5 um (W) element; the 40 um standard grade is available if finer filtration is not required. The square gauge here reads in psi; MPa and bar scales are also offered. Thread is G (BSPP) as coded, with PT as the catalogue standard and NPT an order option. A mounting bracket is included.
Because flow is published as curves and not a single rated figure, ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a rated flow, Cv or SCFM number. Tell us your application and we will confirm the flow figures from the datasheet so you can size the unit correctly before ordering.
The M in the code specifies a manual drain on the filter bowl: condensate is bled by hand at intervals rather than discharged automatically. It also gives the widest regulation range for this family, 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi), compared with 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi) for the automatic and differential-pressure drain versions. If the installation runs unattended, ask us about the automatic-drain variant.
