The AirTAC AirTAC GFR400-10 Filter Regulator 3/8 in NPT, 5 um, psi is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-10 is a filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in a single body. This size 400 unit is threaded 3/8 in NPT, carries a 5 um filter element, a manual drain bowl and a round pressure gauge reading in psi, and adjusts outlet pressure between 0.05 and 0.9 MPa (7-130 psi). The polycarbonate bowl lets you see the condensate level, and the manual drain is emptied by hand as part of routine checks.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR series is available in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with ports from 1/8 in to 1 in, a choice of differential-pressure, automatic or manual drains, 40 um or 5 um filtration, gauge and thread options, and an optional mounting bracket. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the working temperature range is -5 to 70 C, non-freezing. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm the datasheet figures for your application.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 10 | Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| C | Gauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square. |
| 2 | Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeding tool-clamp cylinders and air-powered peripherals on a CNC cell: the 5 um element protects sensitive valves from particulate and water, while the regulator holds a steady set pressure at the machine.
Supplying carton-sealing cylinders and pick-and-place actuators on a packaging conveyor, where the round psi gauge gives operators a visible setpoint and the manual drain fits a line checked each shift.
Setting and holding clamping pressure on a pneumatic workholding press, with the 5 um grade guarding the clamping valve and the manual drain bled during daily start-up checks.
Size and port step up together: GFR200, GFR300, GFR400 and GFR600 cover ports from 1/8 in to 1 in, so pick the size whose flow curve covers your air consumption at working pressure. Drain choice matters in practice: this unit has a manual drain, which suits attended installations with regular walk-rounds; choose the automatic or differential-pressure drain codes where the unit runs unattended. Filtration is 40 um as standard or 5 um (this unit, code W) for finer protection of downstream components. Gauges are embedded square as standard with an optional external round gauge in MPa, psi or bar scales; this unit carries a round psi gauge. Thread is PT as standard with G and NPT as order options - this unit is NPT. A mounting bracket is optional, and this unit is supplied without one. Flow is published as curves, not a single rated figure, so send us your application details and we will confirm sizing against the datasheet before you order.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a l/min, m3/h or SCFM number. Send us your working pressure and air consumption and we will confirm the sizing against the datasheet curves on request.
This unit has a manual drain, so condensate collected in the polycarbonate bowl is bled off by hand during routine checks; automatic and differential-pressure drain versions are available in the same series if you need unattended drainage. The 5 um element (code W) is the finer option over the 40 um standard, suited to protecting precision valves and cylinders.
