The AirTAC AirTAC GFR400-10G Filter Regulator 3/8in G, 5um, psi is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-10G is a size-400 filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in a single body. This configuration is decodable from the code itself - a 3/8 inch G (BSPP) port, a 5 um filter element (the finer of the two catalogue grades, code W), a manual drain on the PC bowl, an embedded square pressure gauge scaled in psi, a built-in reverse/check valve, and a mounting bracket included. With the manual drain, the regulation range is 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi), and maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi). Operating temperature is -5 to 70 C, non-freezing.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is published in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600, with port sizes from 1/8 to 1 inch, PT as the standard thread and G or NPT as order options, a choice of 40 um standard or 5 um (W) filtration, differential-pressure, automatic or manual drains, and gauge scale choices of MPa, psi or bar. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm the datasheet and sizing for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

|---|---|
| 10 | Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| (blank) | Mounting bracket included. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 2 | Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| G | G (BSPP) thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| K | Reverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted. |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Point-of-use conditioning for a machining centre's pneumatic actuators and tool-clamp circuit: the 5 um element catches fine particles before precision valves, and the regulator holds a steady set pressure for consistent clamping.
Feeding the air cylinders on a carton packaging or palletising line, where the filter-regulator keeps water and grit out of directional valves and holds the pressure the diverter and sealing stations were set up for.
Conditioning the control air for spray-booth dampers, air motors and coating equipment, where the finer 5 um grade helps protect sensitive pneumatic instruments and the check valve holds the circuit against backflow.
Size 400 with a 3/8 inch port sits in the middle of the GFR range; step up or down (200/300/400/600) according to the flow your line needs, since flow is published as curves rather than a single rating. This unit carries the 5 um (W) element - choose it over the 40 um standard grade when downstream valves, cylinders or instruments need finer particle removal. The manual drain here means someone opens the bowl drain to discharge collected water; if you cannot schedule that, ask about the automatic or differential-pressure drain variants. The embedded square gauge is scaled in psi; MPa and bar scales and an external round gauge are also catalogue options. G (BSPP) thread is an order option - PT is the catalogue standard, and NPT is also available. A bracket is included with this code (J would delete it), and the K in the code means a reverse/check valve is fitted. Before ordering, send us your flow and pressure requirements and we will confirm sizing against the published curves and datasheet.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes G-series flow as performance curves rather than a single rated figure, so there is no one flow number we can quote for this 3/8 inch size-400 unit. Send us your application's flow and pressure requirements and we will confirm the datasheet figures and check the sizing for you on request.
The M in the code means the PC bowl is fitted with a manual drain: collected water is discharged when someone opens the drain fitting. This also gives the widest regulation range of 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi). If your installation is not visited regularly, ask us about the automatic or differential-pressure drain versions of the same filter regulator.
