The AirTAC AirTAC GFR400-10T Filter Regulator, 3/8 in NPT, Manual Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-10T is a size 400 filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in a single body. This configuration has 3/8 in NPT ports, a manual drain bowl in polycarbonate (PC), a 40 um standard filter element, a fitted embedded square gauge scaled in MPa, and no mounting bracket. The standard regulator covers an adjustment range of 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi) with this manual-drain version, maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi), and the operating temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing). No reverse/check valve is fitted.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is available in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with a choice of ports, PT (standard), G or NPT threads, manual, automatic or differential-pressure drains, a 40 um standard or 5 um (code W) filter element, gauge and scale options, and bracket choices. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we confirm the datasheet and sizing figures on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 10 | Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 1 | Gauge scale: MPa. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| (blank) | Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Fitted at the point where a compressed-air main feeds a workshop section, the GFR400-10T strips condensed water and pipe-scale from the air and lets maintenance set a stable, reduced working pressure for the tools and cylinders downstream.
On a packaging line with pneumatic sealers, vacuum cups and ejector cylinders, this filter regulator cleans the supply and holds the set pressure so actuators cycle consistently through each shift; the manual drain is emptied during scheduled checks.
At an assembly bench running impact drivers, ratchets and air cylinders, the unit filters incoming air to 40 um and lets each operator dial in the pressure their tools were specified for, with the square MPa gauge giving a clear local reading.
Size 400 with 3/8 in ports sits in the middle of the GFR range; step up to size 600 or down to 300/200 depending on the flow your line needs - ask us to check the flow curves against your application before ordering. Drain type is a real choice: this unit has a manual drain (which also widens the regulation range to 0.05-0.9 MPa), while automatic or differential-pressure drains suit installations that are not checked daily. The 40 um element is standard; specify code W for the 5 um grade where finer filtration is required. The fitted square gauge can be ordered with MPa, psi or bar scale, and an external round gauge is optional. Thread is NPT here; PT is the standard and G is also an order option. Brackets are optional - this configuration is supplied without one.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a rated flow number. Tell us your application and line pressure and we will confirm the flow and sizing data from the datasheet on request before you order.
The M in the code GFR40010MJF1T specifies a manual drain bowl, which is emptied by hand during maintenance checks; it also gives the widest regulation range of 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi). If the installation is not visited daily, the same size 400 filter regulator can be ordered with an automatic drain (code A) or a differential-pressure drain (blank), which handle condensate without manual attention.
