The AirTAC AirTAC GFR400-15 Filter Regulator NPT 1/2 in, MPa Gauge is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has See datasheet ports, a differential-pressure drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-15 is a filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in a single body. This configuration is the size 400 unit with NPT 1/2 in ports, a 40 um standard filter element and a differential-pressure drain that bleeds collected condensate automatically whenever the pressure differential across the element is high enough. The standard regulator covers an adjustment range of 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi) against a maximum inlet pressure of 1.0 MPa (145 psi), a round pressure gauge scaled in MPa is fitted, and a reverse (check) valve is included. The bowl on this 400 size is polycarbonate, the working temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing), and no mounting bracket is supplied with this code.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR series spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with matching port sizes, a choice of differential-pressure, automatic or manual drains, 40 um standard or 5 um (code W) fine filtration, embedded square or external round gauges with MPa, psi or bar scales, and PT, G or NPT threads. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm the datasheet figures for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Point-of-use air preparation for the pneumatic cylinders that drive carton forming and sealing heads on a packaging conveyor, keeping water and debris out of the valve stack while holding a set working pressure.
Conditioning the supply to a pick-and-place robot's gripper circuit, where the check valve helps hold the set downstream pressure and the 40 um element protects the gripper valve from particulate.
Filtered, regulated air for the pneumatic clamps and workholding fixtures on a machining cell, with the round MPa gauge giving the operator a clear read of the clamping pressure at the set point.
Start with the port step: this 400 size carries NPT 1/2 in ports, so match it to your line size and the flow your actuators actually need - larger sizes move more air. Choose the drain to suit access: differential-pressure (this code) needs no attention, automatic drains on a timer-like basis, manual where an operator checks the bowl. Pick 40 um for general protection or the 5 um W element for finer downstream equipment. Gauges come embedded square or external round, scaled in MPa, psi or bar - this unit has a round MPa gauge. Thread is PT as standard with G and NPT as order options (this code is NPT), and a bracket can be ordered where this code omits one. Flow is published as curves, not a single rating, so ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated number, so we do not quote a rated flow, Cv or SCFM figure. Tell us your line size and the air demand of your application and we will confirm the sizing against the datasheet curves on request.
K is the reverse (check) valve option: this unit is fitted with one, so air is held from flowing back through the unit. It is a real decodable choice on GFR units - the same model without K ships without the check valve. This code also specifies NPT thread, a round MPa gauge, no bracket, and the differential-pressure drain.
