The AirTAC AirTAC GFR400-15 Filter Regulator, PT1/2, 5 um, Auto Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has See datasheet ports, a differential-pressure drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-15 is a filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in a single body. This size 400 unit is threaded PT1/2 (1/2 in), is fitted with a 5 um filter element (the finer W grade, versus the 40 um standard), an automatic drain that expels collected condensate without manual attention, and an external round gauge reading in psi. The standard regulator adjusts from 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi), maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi), and the working temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing). The bowl on this 400 size is polycarbonate (PC), and a mounting bracket is included.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR range is offered in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with ports from 1/8 in to 1 in, a choice of differential-pressure, automatic or manual drains, 40 um or 5 um filtration, square or round gauges with MPa, psi or bar scales, and PT, G (BSPP) or NPT threads. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we confirm the datasheet and sizing figures on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Point-of-use prep ahead of a CNC machine tool's pneumatic valves and tool-change clamps: the 5 um element catches fine particulate, the regulator holds a steady set pressure, and the automatic drain handles condensate on an unattended cell.
Feeding the cylinders and gripper circuits of a cartoning or wrapping machine, where the PT1/2 port suits the main drop leg, the round psi gauge lets operators verify the set point at a glance, and clean, regulated air keeps seal and pick-and-place motions repeatable.
Supplying pneumatic clamps and swing cylinders on a robotic weld or assembly fixture, where stable regulated pressure protects clamp force consistency and the automatic drain prevents accumulated water from reaching the valve bank.
Size and port step up with required flow: 200, 300, 400 and 600 correspond to increasing port sizes from 1/8 in to 1 in, so pick the size whose flow curve covers your demand at your working pressure - ask us to check the curve against your application before ordering. Drain choice: automatic (this unit) empties the bowl unattended, manual requires periodic draining, and the differential-pressure default drains only when the pressure drop is high enough. Filter grade: 40 um is standard for general air prep; the 5 um W grade (this unit) suits finer downstream equipment. Gauge: embedded square gauge is standard, with an optional external round gauge in MPa, psi or bar - this unit carries the round psi gauge. Thread: PT is the standard; G (BSPP) and NPT are order options. A mounting bracket is included with this unit.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes filter-regulator flow as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a rated flow, Cv or SCFM number. Send us your application details and we will confirm the datasheet and the flow curve for this PT1/2 size 400 unit on request, so you can size it against your actual demand.
The automatic drain (code A) expels collected condensate on its own, which suits units mounted in awkward spots or on lines that run unattended; the alternatives are manual draining or the differential-pressure default. The 5 um element (code W) is the finer option versus the 40 um standard, a good match for downstream valves, cylinders and instruments that tolerate less particulate.
