The AirTAC AirTAC GFR400-15-T Filter Regulator 1/2 NPT 5 um is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-15-T is a size-400 filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in one body. This configuration carries a 1/2 in NPT port, a 5 um filter element (code W, one step finer than the 40 um standard), a manual drain on the PC bowl, an embedded square gauge reading in psi, and a built-in reverse/check valve. The regulator is the standard type with an adjustment range of 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi), and the unit is rated to 1.0 MPa (145 psi) maximum inlet pressure at -5 to 70 C (non-freezing). A mounting bracket is included.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is available in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with a choice of port, thread (PT standard, G and NPT as order options), drain type, filter grade, gauge style and scale. Flow figures for this series are published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us and we will confirm the datasheet numbers for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| (blank) | Mounting bracket included. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 2 | Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| K | Reverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted. |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeds filtered, regulated air to the tool-clamp and actuation circuits of a CNC machining centre, with the 5 um element protecting precision valves from fine particulate.
Sits at the drop of a packaging or cartoning line to condition and regulate the air driving cylinders, grippers and diverters along the conveyor run.
Provides clean, pressure-controlled air to spray guns and air-assist equipment in a finishing booth, where the 5 um grade helps keep the air supply free of fine contamination.
Size 400 with a 1/2 in port sits in the upper-middle of the GFR range; step up to size 600 or down to 300 depending on the flow your line needs - we will check the published flow curves against your demand before you order. This unit has a manual drain, so an operator opens the bowl drain periodically; if you want unattended condensate removal, the automatic-drain version is the alternative to specify. The 5 um element (code W) suits downstream equipment that needs finer filtration than the 40 um standard. The square psi gauge is fitted as standard; an external round gauge in MPa, psi or bar is optional. Thread here is NPT; PT is the AirTAC standard and G (BSPP) is also orderable. A mounting bracket is included.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number here. Tell us your application and required flow and we will confirm the datasheet curve figures for this 1/2 in size-400 unit on request.
The M in the code sets a manual drain: an operator periodically opens the bowl drain to remove collected condensate, instead of relying on the automatic or differential-pressure drain options. The W sets the 5 um filter element, one grade finer than the 40 um standard, for downstream equipment that needs cleaner air.
