The AirTAC AirTAC GFR400C15MJNWTK Filter Regulator 1/2 in NPT 5 um is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has See datasheet ports, a differential-pressure drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400 is a filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and sets downstream pressure in a single body, so one component does the job of a filter and a regulator. This configuration is the 400 size with a 1/2 in NPT port, fitted with the fine 5 um filter element (code W), a manual drain on the bowl, a reverse/check valve, and no pressure gauge or mounting bracket. The manual drain means an operator opens the drain at the bottom of the bowl to release collected condensate, which suits installations visited during routine checks. With no gauge fitted, add a gauge separately if downstream pressure must be read at the unit.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is published in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600, with port options from 1/8 in to 1 in, G (BSPP) and NPT threads alongside the PT standard, manual, automatic or differential-pressure drains, 40 um or 5 um elements, gauge choices and bracket options. Rated flow for this series is published as curves rather than a single figure, so ask us to confirm the datasheet and sizing for your application.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeds filtered, regulated air to the tool-changer and clamping circuits of a CNC machining centre, with the 5 um element protecting spool valves from particulate carried in shop air.
Sits in the air drop feeding cylinder-driven carton-forming and sealing stations on a packaging line, holding a steady set pressure so stroke speeds stay consistent through the shift.
Conditions the supply to end-of-arm grippers and weld-gun clamps in a robotic welding cell, with the check valve helping hold the set circuit and the manual drain cleared during cell maintenance rounds.
Start with the port step: this unit is the 400 size with a 1/2 in NPT connection, so match it to pipework and downstream demand of that scale, stepping up or down a size if the flow requirement differs. Choose the drain to suit access: manual (as here) for attended installations, automatic for unattended ones, or the differential-pressure default. Choose the element grade: 40 um is the standard element, while the 5 um fitted here is the finer option for downstream equipment that needs cleaner air. Gauges are optional (round or square, with MPa, psi or bar scales) and this unit ships without one; a mounting bracket is also omitted in this configuration. Thread is NPT here; PT is the standard and G (BSPP) is available to order.
Because flow for the GFR series is published as curves rather than a single rating, send us your application details and we will confirm the datasheet figures and correct sizing before you order.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as performance curves, not as a single rated figure, so there is no one l/min or SCFM number we can quote. Send us your application details and we will confirm the datasheet and check the sizing against your required flow before you order.
The M in the code selects the manual drain: condensate collected in the bowl is released by opening the drain by hand, which suits installations checked during routine maintenance. Automatic and differential-pressure drain options are available in the same series if you need unattended condensate removal.
