About the Airtac MBLC Aluminum Alloy Mini Air Cylinder MBLC25X20U

The AirTAC MBLC25X20U is a double-acting aluminum mini cylinder with a 25 mm bore and 20 mm stroke. It generates 245 N of push force and 206 N of pull force at 0.5 MPa. A U flat-end back cover provides rigid rear mounting. Because this SKU lacks the -S suffix, it has no built-in magnet and cannot accept a CMSG, DMSG, or EMSG position sensor.

This variant uses an adjustable air cushion at both stroke ends instead of a fixed rubber bumper. You tune the cushion needle to smoothly decelerate the load, cutting end-cover impact and vibration on fast, short moves. The riveted rolling-packed aluminum barrel keeps the body light and compact for tight spaces, while the 20 um hard-chrome plated carbon-steel rod resists wear against the heterogeneous two-way grease-retaining piston seal.

Is the Airtac MBLC Aluminum Alloy Mini Air Cylinder MBLC25X20U the Right Cylinder?

At 245 N push (0.5 MPa), this 25 mm bore fits light-duty actuation. If you need less force, the 20 mm bore offers 157 N push. For heavier payloads, step up to the 32 mm bore providing 402 N push. Choose this MBLC over the base MBL when your cycle speed is high enough that a fixed rubber bumper causes harsh stopping or noise. The U flat-end cover mounts rigidly; use a CA pivot cover if your load arcs. Note that the adjustable cushion only decelerates near the ends and is not a load lock. The cylinder will drift if air is lost or the valve centers. For position holding without live air, add an external rod lock. Replacement match: 25 mm bore, 20 mm stroke, G1/8 port, PT thread, U back cover, no magnet.

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Use clean air filtered to 40µm or finer.
  • check Keep within 0.15 – 1.0 MPa operating pressure.
  • check Avoid side load on the piston rod.
  • check Adjust end cushion screws for smooth stops.
  • check Use correct mounting accessory (LB / FA / SDB) and back cover (CA pivot / U flat-end).
  • check Installation by qualified personnel per AirTAC docs.

Airtac MBLC Aluminum Alloy Mini Air Cylinder MBLC25X20U FAQ

At 0.5 MPa, it provides 245 N push and 206 N pull. At 0.7 MPa, the push increases to 343 N. The maximum theoretical force is 50 kgf at 1.0 MPa.

A screw-tunable needle at both stroke ends releases trapped air to smoothly decelerate the piston. You adjust it to match the load and speed, preventing harsh end-cover impacts that a fixed rubber bumper cannot absorb.
