The AirTAC Airtac MD Multi-Position Clamping Cylinder MD6X5S is a genuine MD multi-mount cylinder (double acting), 6 mm bore. Its compact square body fixes from six directions and mounts side by side to save space. It delivers about 14.1 N of push force at 0.5 MPa. A bumper cushions the impact.
The AirTAC MD series is a compact multi-mount cylinder with a square body that fixes from six directions - front, back, left, right, top and bottom - so units mount side by side to save space. Magnetic-switch slots run around the body, guide precision is high and no added lubricant is needed. This MD6X5S is double acting with a 6 mm bore and a very short 5 mm stroke, delivering about 14.1 N of theoretical push at 0.5 MPa, cushioned by a bumper and rated 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) on filtered air.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. MD is the standard multi-mount family; the MK family is the no-rotating version where the rod must not turn. The trailing S on this SKU means the magnet for position-sensing switches is fitted; port thread is PT. We confirm dimensions and sizing from the AirTAC datasheet on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC MD/MK multi-mount data. The front cover and piston are short, so avoid an over-long stroke. An optional high-temperature seal material extends the range to 0 to 150 C. Overall dimensions vary per stroke and allowable side-load is published as curves — ask us and we confirm from the datasheet.
Bore sets thrust: a 6 mm bore gives 14.1 N push (10.6 N pull) in double-acting use at 0.5 MPa; step up to 16 mm (100.5 N) for more force. MD is the standard family where rod rotation is acceptable; MK prevents rotation. Acting choices are double acting (MD/MDD/MDJ), single-push (MSD/MSK), single-pull (MTD/MTK) and adjustable stroke (MDJ/MKJ, adding 10/20/30 mm). Strokes for bore 6 run up to 35 mm double acting, and the short cover cautions against an over-long stroke - this 5 mm stroke is well within range. The trailing S adds the magnet; PT thread is standard with G optional. Route side-load questions to us.
Extends a tiny gripper finger to hold miniature parts on a benchtop transfer unit; the magnet lets a switch confirm grip position in the body slots.
Clamps light components in a machining fixture, fixing from any of six faces and sitting side by side with sibling cylinders on one mounting plate.
Extends a short stopper pin on a small conveyor or rotary table; the fitted magnet signals when the pin is fully out for interlocking.
MD is the standard multi-mount cylinder, where normal piston-rod rotation is acceptable; MK is the no-rotating version with a fixed rod and plate that stops the rod turning. If a plate or workpiece must stay square, pick the MK family; otherwise this MD6X5S offers the same compact body.
The trailing S means the magnet is fitted, so magnetic switches seated in the slots around the square body can signal end positions without extra brackets - useful for confirming a clamp or stopper has fully extended. Bore, stroke and side-load details are in the datasheet; we confirm them on request.
