Because a rod exits both covers with the same M8x1.25 male thread on each end, both sides of the piston see the rod-side area, so the output force is equal in both directions: about 131.9 N at 0.5 MPa and 184.7 N at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical maximum of 26.9 kgf at 1.0 MPa. A variable air cushion at both ends lets you tune the deceleration for smooth, high-speed stops, and the rear rod end can carry a second load, a stop flag, or a position marker.
