Because a 16 mm rod exits both covers with the same M14x1.5 male thread at each end, both sides of the piston see the rod-side area, so the output force is equal in both directions: about 527.8 N at 0.5 MPa and 738.9 N at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical maximum of 107.6 kgf at 1.0 MPa. A variable air cushion at both ends lets you tune the deceleration at each end of the stroke, so the piston can run at higher speeds or carry heavier loads without hard metal-to-metal stops. The rear rod end also gives you a mounting point for a stop flag, position marker, or a second light load.
Construction follows the JIS mini-cylinder footprint with a riveted SUS304 stainless barrel and a hard-chrome plated carbon-steel rod for wear resistance. If you need a double-rod cylinder without cushions in bores 20 to 40, choose the MGD; if a single rod with a cushion is enough, the MGC is the equivalent single-rod build. The through-rod also resists rotation at the rod ends, which helps keep tooling square. Mount with the FA flange or LB foot, and add I or Y rod knuckles where a slight misalignment must be absorbed; SDB and CB mounts are not offered on this series.
