How to choose
The 16 mm bore provides roughly 100.5 N theoretical push at 0.5 MPa (about 86.4 N on the pull side); move to 20, 25 or 32 mm bore if you need more thrust. MK prevents rod rotation; MD is the standard type if rotation is tolerable. This is a double acting cylinder and the 25 mm stroke is within the bore 16 range (up to 50 mm) - avoid over-long strokes, as the short covers limit them. What does the S at the end of MK16X25S mean?
The trailing S means this SKU is supplied WITH a magnet, so magnetic proximity switches can be detected in the slots around the square body. The same cylinder without the S (MK16X25) has no magnet. Magnet is an optional fitting on MD/MK cylinders, not a standard feature on every model.
Can I fit a long stroke on this bore?
The bore 16 multi-mount body uses short covers and is designed for compact duty; its stroke table tops out at 50 mm, and over-long strokes are not suited to the format. Keep within the published table, mount from any of the 6 directions, and confirm dimensions and side-load from the datasheet.
