The MKD32X25S is a compact square-bodied multi-mount cylinder that can be fixed from any of six directions - front, back, left, right, top or bottom - and mounts side by side with its neighbours to save panel space. This is the double-rod variant: the rod passes through the body, so the 32 mm bore drives a supported tooling plate on both strokes, each delivering about 345.6 N at 0.5 MPa (the through-rod gives the rod-side figure on both strokes). It runs on air filtered to 40 um at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), 30-500 mm/s, from -20 to 70 C, and cushioning is a bumper rather than an air cushion.
A genuine AirTAC part, the MK family adds a no-rotating plate, fixed rod and brass bushing (typical) so the rod cannot turn - valuable where tooling must stay square. How to choose
Bore sets thrust: at 32 mm this double-acting, double-rod cylinder delivers about 345.6 N per stroke at 0.5 MPa. Choose MK over MD where the rod must not rotate, and double rod (MKD) where a through rod must work or carry from both sides of the body. The 25 mm stroke sits well inside the 60 mm maximum for bore 32 - the short square body favours modest strokes, so avoid over-long travel. The trailing S means a magnet is built in for switch slots; PT thread is fitted here, with G on request.
Applications
No-rotate pick and place
Bolt the MKD32X25S to the top plate of a small assembly machine and stroke a suction plate up and down; the internal plate and fixed rod stop the tooling turning between lifts.
Compact workpiece clamping
Fix the cylinder to the side or underside of a jig and drive a short clamp pad; the through rod lets the same compact body push or pull a clamp from either end of its 25 mm stroke.
Conveyor stopper blade
Mount the MKD alongside a belt line to raise and lower a stopper blade through 25 mm; the double rod keeps the blade square as it enters and leaves the part path.
